Outstanding Chinese Cuisine!!!!! 3/20/2012

I ate dinner at Ming Wok last night. The staff was extremely polite, professional and the beef szechuan was awesome! I had their huge, delicious cream puffs too! I like extra sweet sauce, which they happily provided. I loved everything and look forward to going back again soon. Thank you Ming Wok! more

Great Chinese Take-out 3/13/2012

We are a busy family with 2 little ones so sometimes we rely on those take-out menus. Being of Asian descent, I'm very particular about my Chinese take-out. I got sick and tired of the typical Chinese restaurant food where they overly salt the food and drench everything in brown sauce, and have been cooked in large batches to mix into various dishes. Finding Ming Wok this weekend made my week. Their foods taste very fresh with that just-made taste, and not heavy at all. As I've described to my husband, ""this tastes home-made!"", not batch-processed. We've gone back to order for the second time this week. I can't get enough of their shrimp with lobster sauce and their chicken fried rice. I'm very glad we have found a new place for our Chinese take-outs. more

Twin Cities Best Chicken Chow Mein 11/6/2011

My husband and I went on the hunt for chicken chow mein. We tried many different Chinese restaurants before we happened upon Ming Wok. No sense in looking further - the chicken chow mein is to die for. Each order is stir fried from scratch, fresh and crunchy with amazing flavor and lots of tender chicken. Not your standard fare by a long shot. We have returned many times, always thinking we will sample something else on the menu, but we just can't get our fill of the chow mein. After 20 years of Asian stir fry, who would have believed we would be back to good old chow mein :). Try it. You'll love it! more

WOK THIS WAY! 10/7/2011

Unbelievable...not your made from a bag or can stuff here. Family owned and operated using real recipes...a true family tradition. I travel often and when I'm close I make it a point to stop. You can taste the difference, dine in or take out. Crab Ragoon, cream cheese puffs...are you kidding me! Awesome. Vietnamese egg rolls.... get extras and fill your pockets! A great staff and owners who only compliment the great food! You won't be disappointed. more

Best Food! 8/27/2011

We eat at Ming Wok several times a week. Love it! Delicious! Our standard fare is Potstickers, Spicy Chicken Brocoli, Kung Pao Chicken.....sooooo good! We have the Showroom just next door. It is unfortunate that people would suggest there are dogs in the kitchen when they don't have the true facts! The dogs are mine and they come to work with us everyday to our new Design Showroom just next door. They do bark when they are inside or in the patio outside just behind Ming Wok. They are lovable and certainly not in the kitchen of Ming Wok. more

Poor Quality Control 8/24/2011

Ordered chicken chow mein takeout last night. My wife found a half eaten shrimp in her serving! It appears they are recirculating left overs. Got a full refund but no explanation of how it happened. Will never go there again and will tell all of my friends about this disgusting restaurant. more

Potential Dog Meat? 6/20/2011

Okay so... I went there with a friend and we ordered a Hawaiian Fried Rice and it was very good! However, while we were waiting for our food, we heard what sounded like dogs barking from the back. I am not sure if they used those dogs for meat or whatever they did with them but either way dogs in restaurants are not sanitary under any circumstances. Oh and the shrimp was a bit chewy. more

Gluten free menu 3/18/2011

Great chinese food that is very flavorful. They even have gluten free menu items which is very hard to find in chinese restaurants. They will cater to specific allergy requests. We like to order take away and walk down to the lake to enjoy our dinner by the water. more

Best Fresh Chinese 2/23/2008

Been there many many times and have never been disappointed. As a asian food fan, I have found nothing that even compares. Try the hot & sour soup. Best ever! Pros: great food, willingness to sustitute ingrediants, fresh Cons: Parking more

Best Chinese food around 8/1/2007

I've been to the Ming Wok many times, as I live near by and it's the best gourmet chinese food I've found. If you're used to Leean Chin or some other ""fast food"" chinese place, you'll be in for something different. But if you like quality ingredients, flavorful sauces, and good prices, this is the place to go. They offer lunch specials Monday thru Friday that are $6 a piece for the main course, a small appetizer, and a cup of soup. Pros: Best food, friendly service, great location Cons: Only average decor more

Try the new ""Smoothed Teas."" Nothing better on a hot day! 6/27/2007

I was treated to a preview of what is to come at the future Ming's Wok Teahouse. I ordered the Chinese brocolli with fried noodles and shrimp and scalllops which was delightful. Also, do not pass up the new ""Smoothed Teas"" made with white tea(known for increased antioxidants) bobo(tapioca) or jellys and and real fruit(the mango was very nice). This is blended into a cool smoothie of sorts that would be perfect for a hot day. For appetizers, I had the vietnamese fried eggrolls and some potstickers which were both very good and had tasty sauces. My understanding is that they are doing some interior remodelling and will soon have outdoor seating options. Pros: they are remodelling, great location, new smoothed teas, tasty food, good service Cons: Silverware is cheap, carpet is very worn more

Sorry 4/17/2007

I am sorry, but my experience at Ming Wok was not good. I had such hopes for a great chinese restaurant in Excelsior. The food was some of worse I have ever tried, so bad I can not bring myself to going back for a 2nd try. Sorry. Pros: Cute Place, near Lake Minnetonka Cons: Food is poor more

YUMMY! 11/2/2003
