I was on i 95 heading to Miami from Coconut Creek and my car started smoking. I was in a panic but pulled off Hollywood Blvd and saw Mikes auto I pulled in and Mike greeted me in the parking lot and lifted the hood. He said I blew a hose thats all and said let it cool down, I'll have u out on the road in a few. Twenty minutes later a hose showed up from a parts company, the mechanic put it on and started car and I was on my way again. While there i waited in the waiting room which was so clean i thought I was in a Dr.'s office. What a great experience. Ill drive to come here again, Thanks for the help guys more

Fast, FRIENDLY, professional service LIVES! Yes, there exists in South Florida a place where you can feel good about taking care of your automotive needs. Had to take our vehicles in for an insurance inspection. Mike's Great Bear Auto was on the list of approved providers. I was very impressed and will be taking my business to them the next time our cars need servicing. Even though they are bit of a drive for us, service like that is worth it! more

I have recently been bringing in my company vehicles and I must give thanks to Al and Mike for the excellent service and most importantly thier honesty. Al has been very helpful and upfront with the estimates and the repairs. Its always exactly what he has quoted and not a pennie more. i appreciate Mike and his employees for thier exceptional service. The manager Al offered me a free diagnostic for my 2002 Mitsubishi. I was at Goodyear and they recommend a full tune-up for around $600.00 dollars. When I called to get a second opinion I spoke to Al and he offered to get my car in quickly and diagnose it for FREE!!. I brought the car right over and was given an accurate estimate a few hours later. It ended up being an issue with the elctronics in the transmission NOT a tune-up. Al was very good at explaining everything and we had it repaired. Thank you all so much for your help and honest....Linda more

I want to appreciate all that Mike;s did for me. I was having an issuse with my Mazda and brought it in for a free check engine light check out. Al gave me a complete diagnosis of what it would require to repair my car. I couldn't afford to fix everything at once so Al itemized everything that was need and now I can start fixing alittle at a time. No presure and honesty is what i found here. I'm use to high presure and scare tactics but Al was great....Thank You more

Hi I just wanted to take the time to say how much I love coming to Mike's..I have been coming there for almost 4 years. Barbara is great and so is Mike and the rest of the crew..I trust them with my car and therefore my life! They dont do anything ""not asked fof"" and always explain how long you can drive before an item really needs replacing or repaired.. more

I live in Tamarac Florida. I travel 20 miles away anytime I want my car fixed. The reason being is in my past experience with other shops they are dishonest, and overcharge. more

I work in Hollywood close to the Mike's Great Bear. I went in and spoke to Al the manager about repairing my air conditioning. I was already given an estimate for a new compressor. Al and the technicians looked my car over and determined that they could repair the compressor verses replacing and save me about $500.00. Not only did they save me $500, Al allowed me to pay a portion of the bill and then pay the balance when i got paid during the week. What a great place and great people.....Thank You for your help and most importantly your Honesty Al........... more

My wife and I had a very good experience dealing with this shop. The lady at the counter Barbra was very helpful when our car broke down not far from the shop. She had Al the manager and Otis retrieve my car promptly. They installed a battery and check it all out They didn't even charge to get the car from down the street. What customer service !!!! I was recommended by a friend to stop and see Al Yaghy manager. I have been to two other Transmission shops and they both charged me for repairs and my car was still having issues. I asked Al for his help and he looked at my car for nocharge seeing how I was busted fromt he last two shops. He gave me a diagnosis in about ten minutes as to what was needed. Unfortunatly I can't afforf the proper repair but I waill absolutly be going back when I can. This was a wonderful experience not to be taken advantage of because I'm a woman....Thank you to the owber for having such dedicated and honest employees like Al working for you..... more

i want to say thank you and let the community know what a great repair shop i was recommend to try. I walk in and the waiting are is absolutly beautiful.I was greeted in the parking lot by Al the manager which he gave me the personal service and comfortability I havent experienced in a long time. The shop was very clean looking and professional. i spoke with Barbra at the service counter and felt very welcome. I want to thank AL the manger for helping me with my car. I drive down every few month from Wesy Palm Beach so Al can change my oil and inspect my car for any needed repairs. while changing my oil he noticed that my radiator had a small leak. I drive a mazda and from what i understand it could be really bad if i overheat. I thank Al and the guys for being honerst and giving me great service.......What a great experience.... more

I have had the best experience dealing with manager Al Yaghy. I have had front and rear struts install for far less than any other estimate..Al always comes in lower on his prices and gives me un believable customer service to go along. I get the same warranties as any other shop including the Chevy dealer. I most recently broke down and Al sent a technician over ASAP to rescue me. I needed a new secutiy key for my car and they got it done for 200 less then the dealer would charged...I can't say enough about how satisfied i have been with Mike and Al..I highly recommend giving these guy a shot..You will not be disappointed... more

MY name is Mike Alam and i have been a loyal customer of Mike's Great Bear for over 10 years. These two guys have gone above and beyond to keep me and my families vehicles safe and sound for the past 10 years. They go out of there wat to ensure that we are saving money and getting our repairs fixed the right way. We always get rides to and from home. We are3 explained in detail what repairs need to be done and what repairs can wait. In todays economy this is an appreciated way of doing business. I took my car here because the check engine light was on and it wasn't running 100% normal. Al said he would do a free diagnostics test and let me know. Well he does the test apparently and tells me you've got major problems a blown head gasket and you need a new engine ! WHAT!!! You've got to be kidding me. I can get you a used motor for $4000. REALLY! I think you would be able to tell if you need a new engine. No noise from the motor, no knocking sound, doesn't shake. The only problem I noticed was when accelerating from a stop I wasn't getting full power. Took it to my husbands friend and he changed the fuel filter and spark plugs for $100 and it runs great! I guess when they see a young woman come in they think like a pack of wolves FRESH MEAT! We're gonna get this one. NOT!!!!! BEWARE! Don't be scammed by these people. more

I took our older car here for a list of repairs including check and fix niosy rear brakes and a brake pulsation and some leaks under the car. I got a call from Al a few hours after dropping the car off. He went down the list of repairs with prices for each repair. The oil leak was the engine oil pan and transmission oil pan leaking. When we got to the brake squeal and pulsation, Al told me it needed front brakes and machine the front brake rotors. I asked him 3 times if there was a problem with the rear brakes. He assured me that the rear brakes were fine, and finally say they would do a clean and adjust on the rear brakes. A service that most reputable repair shops include for free with a front brake job, but that they charged me for. The total bill came to just under $1700. I told him to go ahead and do it. When I got the car back and drove it, I couldn't believe it still had a brake pulsation. Still had the banshee squeal from the brakes. AND it also had 2 noises in the drive train under the hood. I called Al and took it back as soon as I could. They kept it for the day. They picked me up in my own car when it was done...the squeal was still there. When we got to the shop Al told me he had fixed a bushing in the front at no charge (and without authorization). I asked about the brakes and he said that they didn't find anything wrong. Bottom line...they had the car for a total of 3 days to do very basic repairs. The brakes still squeal and pulsate. There are 2 noises in the drive train now. And the steering wheel is crooked. I don't trust the car with my family anymore due to their incompetence. Don't take your car here, the only tool these guys are good with is an adding machine. UPDATE: The brakes noise and pulsation were repaired by a local shop by simply servicing the rear brakes! UPDATE2: One of the drive train noises was from when they serviced the transmission they left it 4 pints low on fluid. So not only did they mess up servicing the transmission, but they didn't recheck their work when I took it back!!! TOTAL FAIL OPERATION!!!! more

I had no problem with Mikes Great Bear, I took my car in for some major work, they not only gave me a great competative price, they finished it when they said they would. Mike was great in explaining to me everything that was involved in the repairs so I felt comfortable.
