Real Mexican Food and Experience 3/29/2006

It's appaling, really, how many bad mexican food places we have here in Tucson. If ever you find yourself in a mexican resurant where the salsa tastes oddly like Pace, get out of there! Mi Nidito, however, is one of the "real" places. It's a little kitshy inside, but the food is outstanding, as is the bar. If you want a good experience (and a long line, head down there) Now, this next comment might get some people mad at me, but I feel justified it saying it. My husband is a Tucson Police Officer, and he occasionally tells me places that I am free to go during the day, but should never go to after dark. Mi Nidito is one of those places. Not because of the resturant, but because of the area of South Tucson that it's in. Make your own decision more

Decent south side mexican food 3/16/2006

When you walk into a restaurant and they have to display pictures of the "celebrities" who've eaten there, it makes me wonder if the food is lacking or the self-esteem. The decor is definitely hispanic and food is good enough. Don't go here because you heard then president Clinton ate there or any other person for that matter. Eat here because you want good mexican food in a nice atmosphere. Just be prepared to wait a while to be seated and served. more

It's Good Enough For Bill Clinton 8/15/2005

Cruise south to Tucson's barrio and enjoy a family style Mexican restaurant with a big menu and a big heart. Usually crowded for lunch, it's a fun wait with a cool beer and a chance to meet with real Tucsonons. Bill Clinton ate here several years ago and his Secretray of State, Madeline Albright took his suggestion and came too! Try it out, and pass the good word to your stately secretary! Closed Monday and Tuesday more
