Took my husband to Mercy with chest pains late at night. They did tests, scheduled an angiogram, did open heart surgery, 6 bypasses the next day. Dr. Cook was wonderful and saved his life. The staff was always attentive, courteous, and exceptional. I have nothing but praise for them all and am very grateful for their care of him. more

Today, October 7 2013, my wife fell in the shower and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Fairfield. She had hurt her leg and busted her forehead above her eye, wide open. The nurses handed her some gauze and told her to hold it on there and then left her there for an hour without checking on her. The PA was nice but inept. My daughter had a similar wound abd it required internal sutures as did this one but the PA did not know how to do them and instead of getting someone who did,he stitched her up outside and sent her home with nothing to help with the pain from her badly bruised leg as well as her head. She needed 19 stitches to close the wound and no pain killers for her to take at home. When I went to pick her up,the charge nurse asked who I was and I informed them I was her husband. After I put her safely in the car, I went back in to ask to see the doctor who had seen her only to be given the HIPPA runaround by nurses who saw me with her just minutes before.\r In short, even if you are dying, try to get someplace else, you could die and your family would never know why. more

I know that when we are sick or injured we expect the Dr.s & Nurses to be right there on the spot, with all the answers.......The truth is that they get bloodwork , Xrays, etc..... Then they have to wait until they get results back & this does take some time..... Meanwhile we Or our loved ones can only wait to see what's next......So please think of the day that they may have had & the Rude Patients that they get in the E.R.......In 2008 I went into the E.R. with shortness of breath & a tight feeling in my chest.....After Xrays, ekg & bloodwork they found nothing going on, But because of my family history of heart disease the Dr. decided to admit me. Dr. Babbitt did a heart cath the next day & found out I have a terminal disease called Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, If I had not gotten the right care at Mercy Fairfield I wouldn't be here now to share my story.....I really think most of the employee's go above & beyond their job.....And I also Want to Say THANK YOU to APRIL , who works in the stress lab !!!!! If you need a Heart Hospital, Mercy Fairfield is the place to be! more

RUDE DR. NURSES WAS GREAT 10/22/2008

My Daughter came thur the ER on Oct 21, 2008 from work after she started feeling funny, My Husband and I (Her Parents) Live in Brown County about 1 1/2 away so it took us awhile to get to her, When we arrived we were greeted by a nice nurse that informed us as to what room she was in, so we went to her right away thinking she would be scared,(Shes only 20 and never went to ER by herself) We found her in really good sprits and doing as well as she could be, seeing how she was in the ER, First thing she said was Mom i was so scared when i got her eby Ambulance, but the nurses were all so sweet to me it made me not as scared, I was impressed, then the nurse came in and stated what they were doing for her and that she would need and XRAY, she was very nice to us all, The Xray tech came in and was just as nice and funny as the other staff, Now heres were it gets bad, we were in the room across from the nursing station when we hear a DR. Goldfard (May be spelled wrong) but anyway he was so rude to the staff and his patience(She was older lady) he was requesting a walker for her and the male nurse said ok no problem i'll call and get her one, the DR then say well do it then and he went on to say"" AND IF SHE DONT WANT TO USE IT SEND HER TO A NURSING HOME AND IF SHE DONT LIKE THAT SHE CAN SIGN OUT AMA) AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE) I WAS FLOORED No one was arging with this dr he just felt like playing the big DR, well mr so called dr if you had been our dr i would of smacked you right in the face and went to jail, i feel sorry for anyone coming in contact with DR MORON GOLDFARB, WHAT A jurkbecause of that i'll never recommand this hosiptal, even though the rest of the staff was great, I'd never speak to my dogs like that let alone people. more
