Signature Realty has managed one of our rental properties for more than one year. We pay them a Management fee to do so, yet I have never spoken to our agent once in the past year. Our renters seem to be late every month, however, no one calls us to let us know. I leave messages and instead of returned phone calls, the money suddenly is deposited. I honestly am not sure that our renters are actually late on paying, or if Signature Realty is just not depositing the money until I call it to their attention. I have left messages requesting that communication issues be resolved, that this is ongoing and we pay for a service, but I get nothing. This month I decided to see how long after the rent is due (on the 10th) it would take if I weren't to call. Today is the 26th, and the rent has not been deposited, no one has called me. I called and spoke to Mr. McHenry, who said to me, ""you just called today though!"". It is not up to me to contact the property management company to let them know they have failed to deposit my renters rent check. I still have not heard if they have got the check, but expect, like most months, the check will suddenly appear tomorrow, with no follow up call. I would strongly recommend if you are looking for someone to properly manage your property, to steer clear of this shady business. I am quite sure that they are sitting on the deposits in order to clear their finances month to month, and just are not financially stable, but are not being honest with their clients regarding this issue. This is speculation, but I cannot understand any other legitimate reason why this would continue, when I have made repeated attempts every month to diplomatically improve the communication and business relationship with Signature Realty, as I do not look forward to finding another property management company, although I am forced to do so.
