I had been seeing another doctor at Marshall Rismiller but she left. I was offered another doctor by MRA, MRA has a way of disorganization that I have noticed over the years. After they took my office visit fee, I was informed that this doctor has nothing to do with medications that my doctor had me on for over two years. This is typical Marshall Rismiller procedure, not taking the time to consider the patient, just a quick fix for their business, and let me tell you, it IS a business first and foremost. A girl in the office set me up with Dr. Pompella. I paid again, this time 20.00 more than the last fruitless visit, a fee of $72.00. Dr. Pompella seemed so nice. He picked up where my other doctor left off with my medications (I have a condition similar to MS, called zinc poisoning, about which little is known, and about which few doctors want to take the time to read.) My subsequent visit with Dr. Pompella didn't go as well. Once again, I paid my $72.00 fee. This time I asked the receptionist why it was much higher than the other doctor's fee, and she said that ""Dr. Pompella charges a little more for his visits than the other doctor."" Well, OK, I was just curious, and so I happily paid my office visit fee of $72.00 and took my seat. Like I said, Dr. Pompella seemed so nice and smiley. He kind of reminded me of a Muppet from Sesame Street, LOL, kind of like Bert. Anyway, on this subsequent visit the girl came in and took my BP and weight, and asked what I wanted to see the doctor about. I gave her one of my issues, which was my concern about the effects on the liver from the med I am taking, after I read about it on the internet; but I have no choice but to take the med, and maybe there is another med out there, maybe something new on the market that would be easier on the liver. I should have told her every one of my questions for the doctor, had I known what I was about to go through, but at the time I thought that was enough to get us started. So, Dr. Pompella came into the room and greeted me with his friendly smile and proceeded to speak with me. Before I addressed my main issues, well, they were all main issues to me, I should say, before I addressed the more ostensibly serious issues, regrettably I asked about the medicine I am currently taking and the risk to my liver, Goodness knows I never should have done that! This was literally about 60 seconds into the conversation! Wait until you hear this! He asked if I wanted blood work done, to test the liver. I asked about the cost. He said he had no idea of the cost, and asked me if I wanted to discuss the cost with one of the girls. (since I have a pre-existing condition I am on a waiting list for insurance for people with pre-existing conditions, high premium for a single, full time working, crippled mother, but what are ya gonna do, right? I will be glad to be able to get it) So anyway, I said yes, he said, ok, wait here a moment, left my room, a girl came in, told me the cost, and I said, ""ok, I'll do it, but I am not done with Dr. Pompella, we only discussed blood work, I have some other things that I need to discuss with him"" and she said, ""Ok, well let's get your blood drawn, and I will get Dr. Pompella for you."" And so I hobbled down the hall and I had the blood drawn, and then they were pushing me out the door! Didn't I just know that was going to happen! I asked for Dr. Pompella, saying that my visit wasn't near finished, I only got to ask about the medicine, nothing about my pain, breathing, and blue feet, and she said, ""well, let's just wait until your blood results are back, and then you can ask Dr. Pompella."" WOW, they took my $72.00 for the office visit, and I was literally tricked out of my visit. Two days later after 3 calls to Marshall Rismiller and Associates the office manager called and told me it was all my fault because I didn't tell the girl everything and I should go to the emergency room if I still have a problem! OMG! talk about obfuscation! more
