Great BBQ! 11/28/2007

I love BBQ. \r Marks definitely has good BBQ. I love their shredded pork sandwich's.\r And the fried pickles are to die for!!! They are great! Prices are great as well. \r \r I suggest this restaurant to any BBQ lover. more

if Mark's is all you have tasted, then I can see why people say Mark's is good bbq. I recently had the chance to try Mark's BBQ at the Baloon Festival, i had a pulled pork sandwich and fried sweet corn on the cob. The sandwich was dry, with very little flavor whatsoever. The pork was absent from the pink color that smoke pork usually has, and no outer crust was present, and there was no smoke flavor, which leads me to believe the meat WASNT smoked. It had to be rotisserie or baked. The fried corn on the cob also had no flavor, and was way too greasy, add some salt guys, it help!! Avoid marks at all costs, for some real BBQ, head to the Pit Stop on S 5th St. Cons: Baked Pork passed off as BBQ more

Decent but certainly not great 5/16/2006

This is garden-variety chain restaurant fare. Nothing special. Decent food at a decent price. I was quite suprised at the portion sizes though. VERY small. The ""World's Biggest BBQ Sandwich"" was so small I thought it was a joke. But it tastd good so no harm done. Bottom line - If you're looking for unique, go somewhere else. If you're looking for fast, cheap and average. Go here. Pros: Service, Speed, Price Cons: Portion Size, Quality more

Fun Decor on Bardstown strip, Food okay 5/1/2006

I ate here with some friends the other night. My burgoo (meat stew) was tasty, but my pork sandwich was a bit dry. Our server was friendly and we received our food faster than at any other place while in Louisville (the whole town seems to run a bit slowly). Overall, the food was okay, but nothing to rave about. My cup of burgoo, pork sandwich, and beer were $10. more

My family was very pleased with Mark's. As visitors we were looking for a local restaurant with Louisville flavor, and that's what we got! With the 'regulars' drinking beer at the bar and a roll of paper towels at every table, you know Marks has a casual setting. The service was great! The waitress was very nice and didn't frequent our table too much or too little; it was perfect. I ordered a sampler with chicken, pork, and beef. I thought all of the food was very good. However, my wife agrees they serve the best haystack onions we ever ate!!! The prices were very reasonable. It didn't bother me that the sauce is poured over the meat because they have bottles of their sauce at the table so you can add more flavor at will. I even bought a bottle of the brown sauce to take back home. Pros: Onion Straws!!!!, Very Kid friendly!, Cheap! Cons: Cole Slaw I guess more

Mark's is a good place to go for cheap dining. A family of four can eat for under $20. The barbeque sandwiches are tasty, though can occasionally be dry. They have a great variety of Food: BBQ, great ribs, catfish, salmon, salads, and a big kids menu. The service is fast and freindly! Most all the waitresses have been there 5-10 years! Very down home atmosphere, great place for the whole family! Kids eat free on Tuesday nights and Mondays you get free dessert anything you want! Pros: Great Service, Huge Variety, Inexpensive more

Fantastic BBQ 3/13/2005

Delicious, tender meat, choice of two sauces, (we could not decide which we liked best), incredible wings, spicy & sweet at the same time. Excllent grilled vegetable salad, french fries and onion rings that were crispy and not at all greasy, plus you can spice them up more if you like. The Salmon Burger was wonderful for the one of us who did not want BBQ. Pros: Great Food, Affordable, Variety more
