I was a student in Monterey for 2 years and I ate here so many times. This is the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. Its also the only Mexican food place in the Monterey Area that makes authentic and delicious Mexican food. After living in Monterey for two years I got sick of the area quickly and moved to San Francisco, but lately I have been craving El Sol de Mexico and have been thinking about making the trip down to Monterey solely for the purpose of eating at El Sol. The owner always treated my girlfriend and I like family too.
