I have been trying for a long time to see what all the talk is about this place. LOts OF FOOD, not much quality.

Marchetti's - a joke 4/8/2004

I can't imagine how anyone could give this restaurant a passing grade. The food is chain restaurant quality, the atmosphere is lacking and the caliber of patrons says it all. If you are looking for a ton of food for no money then this is your place. But one has to wonder what quality of food and what type of kitchen conditions are being utilized to keep the price down and quantity up? This is a true joke! more

This is one of the best restaurants around. The food is excellent and the portions are more than generous. More people leave with a doggie bag because they are served more food than they could finish. Pros: Great food, Big portions, Reasonable prices Cons: Crowed more

dissapointing 1/13/2003

I ordered take out from this restuarant, filet mignon to be specific. my wife ordered the same. it was flavorless as if it was spoiled and left out of refrigeration for a length of time. I've been to just about every restaurant in R.I and Marchetti's is by far the best one I've been to. The food is exceptional, and the service is wonderful. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphire is warm and relaxing and the help is very accomidating. I would recomend this restaurant in a heartbeat to everyone. I JUST LOVE THIS RESTAURANT AND WOULD'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!!! Pros: exceptional food, great value, great service more

Best in the Country 7/29/2002

This was my first time in Providence. We took my boyfriend's family there for lunch. He is from Providence and all his family still lives there. Will definitely be back next year. I have told everyone I know it is the ""best Italian food in the country"", except for my boyfriend's cooking. He is an Italian chef. But the service, the food, everything was awesome. Been to many Italian restaurants all over the country. There is nothing to compare to Marchetti's. It was great. Pros: Inexpensive, Awesome food Cons: Always busy more

biggest portions 5/29/2002

When you go this place-you often have to wait as it is so popular. People bring families of all ages.When you are seated you quickly are given choices in the italian traditional style. Salad and bread are offered as is soup. Specials change daily. The portions are often large enough to feed a whole family. The food is very good and satisfying. Most people take home more than 1/2 of the servings. Expect a hardy meal with old fashioned style. more
