Great Doctor - best in town! 4/10/2011

Dr. Mandel has been my family eye doctor for years and I will keep coming back. He's got a good sense of humor that makes me feel at ease. He also does a very thorough exam compared to what I experienced elsewhere. I never felt rushed even when there were others waiting. Sometimes I wish there was more staff available to help me pick out glasses, but they are helpful if you ask and I always bring a friend anyway. I can't make such an important decision alone!! more

Great service 1/20/2011

I have had a phobia of anything being done to my eyes for years. After moving to the berkshires I had to find a new eye dr, and I picked Dr.Mandel since he was close and covered by my insurance. It just so happened I made the right choice! He put me at ease, was pleasant and professional, and even got contacts into my eyes! This may not mean anything to you, but before now the chances of that happening were about as good as hell freezing over. His staff was personable and helpful, and my prescription was dead-on-acurate. He told me exactly what was going on with my eyes too, which my old eye dr. did not. I will definitley keep going back! more

Accurate prescriptions for my glasses and contacts.I will gladly pay for extra services when I am so pleased with the results.I have had problems with other local places not making me glasses and contacts I could see well with.Dr.Mandel has always been pleasant and professional in his dealings with me. Staff is Kind, but Dr Mendel is kind of a Grouch 2/11/2009

And mostly, I guess it's just habit and I only have to go back once a year so far so I generally don't let it get to me and choose to ignore the bad behavior as long as I get what I need. Pros: Good location. Open some late night weekdays. Cons: If you can ignore some of the attitude you might get, there will be less Cons overall. A little disorganized. more

Dr. Mandel is very negative 8/11/2007

The doctor is so negative! I don't like him nor do I like how he can't be bothered to remember anything about me, even if I was only in last week. Also, he charges for a ""contact lens fitting"" even though I have been wearing lenses since 1984 and my eyes are the same size for crying out loud! It costs $80.00 on top of what insurance pays. He used to credit contact lens orders for the $80.00, but not anymore. Also, I did not receive a receipt last time I ordered lenses, so I cannot send in for the Accuvue rebate now. I am definitely switching doctors. Pros: Convenient location Cons: everything else more
