Louisville Slugger Museum 8/21/2005

Located in downtown Louisville, this is a must-see when traveling to or though this Kentucky city. First, you purchase your rather inexpensive tickets and then are led to a theater where you watch a movie about the history and glory of baseball. You are then escorted into a holding area with some historical pieces. A factory tour follows and finishes at the museum. The museum itself is small, but full of interesting artifacts including a bat that Babe Ruth used during his record-breaking home run season. You can also stand next to or behind a 90 mph fastball. Be sure to check out the signature wall with all major leaguers that have been sponsored by Louisville Slugger. more

Great fun - Even if you Don't Like Baseball! 8/9/2005

I'm a huge baseball fan, but I've taken all sorts of people - even those that don't care for the sport - and they've all enjoyed the experience! It gives you an appreciation of the sport on a completely different level. Being a fan, the film at the beginning of the tour always makes me tear-up just a little bit *sniff*. Then you get to go on a factory tour and go through the museum with history, facts, hands-on exhibits and more. I love the exhibit that lets you experience what it's like to be at the plate with a real major league pitcher throwing a fast ball right toward you! I highly recommend this place for locals and visitors alike! You at least have to get your picture taken in front of the giant bat!!! more

The place to go to learn about baseball! 8/9/2005

The Louisville Slugger Museum is located in Downtown Louisville on West Main St. With your admission price you get a museum tour, movie, factory tour and a free mini Louisville Slugger bat. they also have a gift shop where you can order genuine personalized Louisville Sluggers. They are kind of expensive though. A great place to go if you are a fan of baseball. Fun for the whole family. more

Louisville Slugger Museum 8/3/2005

There's not a child anywhere that wouldn't enjoy a trip to this museum. There are so many things to see and several hands on exhibits. Our children enjoyed the batting cage and checking their speed. Everyone that goes through the museum receives a small Louisville Slugger bat when they leave. What a treat for children! The cost of admission is very reasonable and you can spend as much time as you wish here. more

It A Hit- Louisville Slugger Museum 8/2/2005

The Louisville Slugger Museum is a fun family activity, and a must see stop for any baseball fan traveling through Louisville. There is no Bat production on Sundays, or after 3 pm daily, so if that is part of the experience you don't want to miss , plan accordingly. There is a film "The Heart of the Game", The bat factory, a gift shop, and personalized bats. You can't miss it- just look for the gigantic bat outside . more

Batter Up! 8/2/2005

I f you even have the slightest interest in baseball, then the Louisville slugger museum is worth a visit. This museum follows the history of the Louisville Slugger bat from 1884 to the present. Located on Main Street, you can't miss the world's largest bat marking the entrance. They have tours every 20 minutes and the tour last 1 1/2 hours. There is lots to see including the bats used my baseball's legends, a movie, and other interactive things including seeing the bats being made. Great for kids. more

Great Baseball Museum 7/20/2005

This is a great place to take the family if you love baseball. The museum is downtown and you can't miss it. The front has a large bat outside. It's a great trademark. You can take a tour thru the museum and see how bats are made. You can even see them making the bats and they will tell you about all the bats they make for professional ball players. At the end of the tour, you get your own slugger bat to take home. It is a miniature one of the larger ones they make. more
