Lotte Plaza This is a wonderful place to food shop. The prices on food are great. Vegetable and fish prices can not be beat here. The people are very friendly and helpful. The women are very beautiful, helpful and kind. If you need something light and fast for lunch, there are a lot of quick packaged things. The food court is great to. Thanks Jack Burdnell more

Lotte Plaza my friend Charles stated accurately is a very nice place to shop. I am an American and if you are not use to the "scents of Asia", you may get repulsed. However, I am Veteran USAF and was stationed in Korea and LOVE the scents (it's an acquired nose). I have been shopping there for atleast 4 years and love the food, service is OK and I actually speak honguhl-marl (korean speaking) but tend not to indulge at the store because usually the Koreans almost have a heart attack when they see an "African American" speaking their language. Anyway, always be on the look out when you are in the market. There has been some, maybe not to fair criticisms about how Asians drive. I never believed in stereotypes like that....but go into Lotte Plaza with a basket and MAN!!!....LOOK OUT!!. I was shopping there a week ago to get some items to make Vietnamese wraps and I jokingly thought as I was at the check-out, "I do not believe it, not one asian person bumped into me with their basket, bags or person". I was amazed as I paid for my food....Whoa, here comes a Basket in full drive .....BOOM!!...and hits me in line. The elder Korean lady was very apologetic, I laughed...I mean laughed hard 'inside' and told her, "No problem ma'am". Keep yours eyes open when you shop, because the asian's usually "do not". A wonderful place to eat and shop. I look forward to visiting Lotte at least twice a week. The staff is friendly and always helpful, The fruits are always fresh and the prices are great. Keep doing what you are doing. Love it Jack more

Even though it is on some not so prime real estate, Lotte Plaza is arguably one of the best Asian food markets around the Baltimore area. The place is bustling with Koreans and run by Koreans, but also welcomes all Asian and non-Asian cultures. The exotic products have quite a range: Choco Pies, fresh Asian fish, freshly made Asian delicacies (like kimchi), Japanese snack foods, Asian ramen, and the list just goes on. People often purchase some rarer fresh produce like ginger. And the prices are quite cheap and cheaper than things you can find online. Unfortunately, the management had the bright idea of cramping the aisles together which makes navigation less than enjoyable. This store used to be a Safeway and the basic store layout of the old Safeway can be seen. The place stenches of seafood and the Asian delicacies which may be a bad thing for the foreigner, but normal for the regulars there. And, this part of Ellicot City is quite lackluster looking and feels very cramped in general. The other half of the store is a mini store including an import store (always fun for the kids that are into anime), cosmetics, cell phones, electronics, Korean video rentals, restaurants, and a bakery. The restaurants are very much worth visiting for some authentic Chinese, Korean, and Japanese food. This half of the store is much cleaner. Overall, if you're in need of some Asian imports whether it's groceries or some anime collectibles, Lotte has it all and worth the visit. Just don't say I didn't warn you about the atmosphere of it all. more
