Friendliest and most helpful store 5/23/2010

These people are nuts. They know their stuff, but they're nuts (in a good way). These women all have an excellent sense of humor, and are willing to take the time to help you through your problem, whatever it is. They've even been known to come in on Sundays, or stay late to help you. Kudos to them for their customer service. The store is pretty well stocked, considering how small it is. If they don't have what you need, tho, they're willing to special order it. Least expensive store... excellent prices. more

Perfect wedding cake 11/8/2005

Lorna's is a small, hole-in-the-wall candy supply shop - I don't even remember how I found it. A woman who works there bakes the most unbelievable cakes I have ever tasted!! I don't like the typical crunchy, sugary frosting that most bakeries make - Lorna's frosting is a soft, butter cream that tastes and feels like homemade. My wedding cake was the best I have ever tasted, period. No one has even come close. I was also quite satisfied with the rental of the cake supplies, decorations, etc... everything looked very nice. more

For the hard to find 9/3/2005

This shop is awesome. You would never know it was there till someone told you or you looked in the phone book. I was looking for a cup cake tree and no one had them or if they did it was expensive. Lorna's had it along with items to decorate them with. She has everything you would ever need for baking cakes and making candy. They also have some great advice if needed. CASH ONLY !!!!! more

Candy making anyone 8/10/2005

Lorna's is located on Ecorse Rd. in Allen park near Pelham. You almost miss it, it is right before a light on the right side. The shop itself is very plain and simple, but for the candy maker it is heaven. You can get a candy mold in about any shape, perfect for favors for a bridal or baby shower, they even have stuff for bachelorette parties. The chocolate is very good and very reasonable. They only accept cash, so be prepared. Christmastime is very busy at Lorna's, so shop early for your supplies, they run out of things pretty fast there. They also sell butter cream frosting by the tub full, so much better than the store bought kind! more
