Great service, great prices, greatest BBQ. Every time we go to Spokane we try to stop for breakfast lunch or dinner more

I don't know about the people that have complained, but this is the best BBQ sauce on the planet. I am in the military and every time we get a chance to go back home and visit, I pick up at least a case of their BBQ sauce. It is sweet and yes it does have a brown sugar and ketchup base, but it is great sauce. Never been to the restaurant but I know the sauce is fantastic. I make a sauce at home that is very similar to their sauce, but I like to buy theirs so I don't have to make it all the time. more

We were in Spokane Washington for the US National Boxing competition this week and asked about a locals favorite for dinner, the lady directed us to The Longhorn BBQ and Smokehouse. It was not hard to find with the HUGE longhorn sign that stood above the skyline just off of the Interstate. We arrived to find a Country style building with a local feel, we walked in and it was comfortable, cassual but clean. We were seated Instantly by a nice young man by the name of JAMES who turned out to be a showman. he told us some recommendations, gave us time to look at the menu then we ordered. The food came quickly and was amazing to say the least. We found ourselves in love with the RIBS and the BBQ sauce, sweet, tangy with a little bite to it. more

We were traveling by car with a friend to Sagle, ID from Seattle, WA and we stopped by for a good lunch. Finally, we found it.\r The owner (I think) told us that they have the buffet coming right out and that the price was for just $7,50 each... Knowing that in a buffet you can have whatever you want, we thought we have to try it and we did.\r They had smoked pork ribs marinaded with a special bbq sauce and they were very very amazing, really. Also you can have chicken thighs, beans, many kinds of sausages, etc.\r Anyway, I would definately go back! more

I was glad when they brought their buffet back. I do not order off menu very often here, I just go straight for the buffet. In addition to offering good meat selections on the buffet, they have a pretty decent salad bar and some good sides like green beans. I especially like that they use good mixed salad greens, instead of just iceberg like many other local salad bars. The service is very good most of the time, however I have had a few below average wait persons during lunch. I have kind of experienced both ends of the spectrums, but that might to be expected when most of my guests are getting the buffet also. I did have a recent visit where the food bar was out and closed down, and the sharp experienced waitress brought us out some ribs from the kitchen. more

Super Busy, a tad cafeteria style. Young/in-experienced servers but still so tasty I would return if ever on a 6AM flight and staying at a hotel right by the airport. Basically it is right by the Spokane airport. more

I grew up spending the summers at the polo field across the road. Longhorn was the go- to place to grab some drinks and bbq after a match. The servers have been the same since I was 7. The menu always stayed the same. As long as I lived in Spokane I will always claim Longhorn as the best bbq beef sandwich in the city. Pretty good cole slaw too! more

First time i dined at this restaurant was in 2009. i wasn't impressed since the ribs are dry and tasteless. A good friend convinced me to go back for their lunch buffet and i didn't regret it. The meats were tender and juicy and i keep going back for lunch ever since. more

My lunch here today blew me away. I had the Bronco Burger--quite possibly one of the best burgers I've ever eaten, and I'm pretty old. The Bronco is their ""famous cheeseburger with peppercorn bacon topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and special sauce."" The special sauce truly is special because the burger was gone before I knew it. Man... amazing! And the steak fries, fried to a nice golden crisp, went for a dip in a side of special sauce and Longhorn's house tartar sauce. My partner in crime had the Famous BBQ Sandwich, which consisted of 1/3 pound of barbecued pull-pork. Sweet. He was blown away by the flavor of it all, but particularly the barbecue sauce. He opted for a ""sideboard"" of macaroni salad peppered will dill weed aplenty! Oh yeah... We were extremely impressed and happy with our meal. Our waitress Alicia (sp) was a real professional--very attentive and friendly. We were seated in the lounge in a nice big booth. The area was very clean with a decor well-suited for the restaurant theme. Word of caution to vegetarians: The moment you open the front door, you will be overcome by the smell of meat, so... if you can't handle it, don't go. We, on the other hand, are hardcore carnivores and will return very soon!\r more

this is not texas style BBQ. I wouldn't call it BBQ anything, except crap. I could have done better with a jar of BBQ sauce and some roast beef from the deli. the waitress was a BEYOTCH. WTH is wrong with spokane? you would think in a city this size that there would be some decent restaurants. Pros: nice decorating Cons: where to start? more

Embarassing! 11/5/2008

Took a lady there receintly after telling her how good it was ""back in the day"" WOOPS! should have checked it out first. The place is without a doubt the biggest ripoff I have ever been to. Filthy! Outragiously expensive! Worst service, and uneatable tiny, cold, dry portons of buffet leftovers. one star is too good for this waste of time and money. Cons: the list is still printing more

  • The Longhorn Barbecue originated in Houston, Texas, in 1946. After 10 years in business in the pistol packin' city the brothers decided to move to the great Northwest. Since coming to Spokane from Texas, the brothers have captured the hearts of Spokane diners with their excellent Southern Pit Style Barbecue.

Pardnur, this is real pit barbecue because the meats are smoked on the pits by a combination of apple, cherry, alder, and birch woods...

In 1997 the Longhorn headed West again and opened a new restaurant in Auburn, Washington. Now folks can enjoy Texas style barbecue on both sides of the Cascades.

In 2002 the brothers hung up their hats from working the pits and passed down the reins to two teams. Longhorn East and Longhorn West are both destined to share this genuine Texas-style barbecue with the world.

Whether it's a company function or a family event, when the Longhorn Chuck Wagon rolls up, the feed bag is on.
