They treat you like you're stupid 2/24/2008

Really... I could go into all the gory details. But they must think the consumer is stupid to treat them that way. It is a beautiful dealership. They have tons of cars. The service area is immaculate. The service waiting areas are great. The sales guy was informative, albeit a bit pushy. I loved the car, but was in a bit of a hurry, and had communicated that early and often. So they began playing the games that I hate from car dealers. They would not return the key to my car without FIVE demands. They claimed that sometimes they make mistakes in the offers that they make. They simply think the consumer is stupid, and work hard to prove that. While I was there I overheard cranky conversations between several potential customers and a couple of other sales guys. It should have been a warning. FYI we bought a $40K car for my wife last year. We made one visit to the dealership. Was treated with respect. I did the deal over email in one day, and have been happy ever since. I'm not looking to screw the dealer out of every last dollar. I just want a reasonable deal. But I REFUSE to be treated with a lack of respect. And I'm afraid that is part of their sales DNA. more

follow-up to our previous post 3/30/2007

(Just to be fair to the dealership, we are writing a follow-up to our first post.) We finally did get our vehicle a couple of days after my first post. As promised, it was a terrific price and included a few hundred dollars worth of free options, their way of saying "Sorry for the screwups." I would tentatively recommend this dealership under the following conditions: (1) you don't mind "pushy" sales people, and (2) you have lots of time and patience. If you don't mind these caveats, then the price is absolutely hands-down awesome. more

maybe we're unlucky, but this was a horrific experience 12/8/2006

The first day went smoothly, we agreed to a very good price and they said our car would arrive in 3 days. We were happy. But that was over 2 weeks ago. During these agonizing 2 weeks, the folks at Norwood Lexus tag-teamed through different representatives, each one promising a delivery date "in 2 or 3 days" and failing to deliver each time. Yesterday, we got a verbal guarantee from the manager of Norwood Lexus and went to pick up our vehicle, only to discover that it had the wrong options, and now we have to wait another "2 or 3 days". The good news is that they've been very nice about it, and promised to include more options at no cost, as a gesture of apology. But we're still waiting and wondering if we're ever going to get this wonderful vehicle at all. I'm still amazed at the fact that they tried giving us a vehicle with the wrong options. I've never seen that before in a professional car dealership. more
