Never had a bad meal 2/22/2009

Actually I should say I have always had a great meal. Frankly this is the best restaurant in Sacramento. If you want a very reasonably priced meal and the best quality combined this is the place. Try the following... 1. Warm veggies on cool noodles 2. Any of the fish dishes especially the ahi and the catfish in a clay 3. Chicken in green curry sauce - ask to throw some tofu in 4. Shrimp crepes 5. Lamb 6. Crab when in season They are now serving brown rice. The prices are very reasonable. BTW Mai's cookbook has all of her favorite recipes and they are easy to make. more

  • The Scene
Long skylights filter beams of light into the dining room, decorated with gold and periwinkle walls, freshly cut orchids and a gas-burning fireplace. Well-to-do executives and couples sit indoors at tables draped with white tablecloths or out on the wood patio. Service is professional, attentive and friendly.

    The Food
The menu features a wide array of traditional Vietnamese and Thai dishes. Start off with the carpaccio appetizer, sprinkled with fried shallots and roasted peanuts that add crispness to the soft, raw beef. The pan-seared basa fish filets are stacked high like a cake and drizzled with juicy ginger-lime sauce. For a more assertive dish, the creamy Thai green curry exudes bold spices and hints of citrus. Be sure to save room for the dense, homemade ginger ice cream.
