BAD SERVICE 6/4/2007

On May 25, my daughter made reservations for 20 people She knew I had wanted to go there for the past few months since I had heard they have live bands there so she decide to take me there for my birthday and my sisters. They had called to make sure we were going to be there and she told them yes..My daughter arrived first then i got there with the rest of my family a little after 7:00, well they were trying to move my daughter to another table because they had a party of 40 and my daughter told them that her party was already there. So the young waiter told the short manager so then he came back and said he said we'll go ahead and leave you here. but the whole time we were there this manager was up and down telling the waiter little things here and there like have you got their order yet and we had ordered drinks and all so he told him again that he needed to get our order, so we started to order so by then the rest of the party arrived which were like 6 more people and they hurried up and ordered too... We got our food even though one of the orders was wrong the food was good. We were sitting in the room close to the patio where the band was dining at till they went up on stage. Well they managed to make room for the party of 40 next to us which was fine. But the manager started to pick-up plates over our head no excuse me or anything. Once again he told the waiter to give us our check they didn't even ask if we wanted anything else..So I gave them my visa card. Well some of my party opened another tab for more drinks since the Band was finally going up and they were drinking and the manager walked by and told the waiter that he needed to close our tab and not open any more..... So I was upset that we got up and were walking toward the front of the and we saw the waiter and he said I am so sorry for the way things went I told him what was the problem that man was rude the whole time we were there he said I know I,m sorry but I only work here I said don"t worry about it I will find out who is the owner of this place.. My daughter was so upset because she knew our birthday was ruined by that manager so I told her not to worry about it she said we'll never come back here again i said fine.... Well the next morning I called the and asked for the manager he said it was a manager so i told him the story he said i remember , were taking a long time to finish i said what we had reservations they didn't say come eat and leave.....I told him you still managed to sit the party of 40 next to us there, was no people outside in line or anything like that. I told him for my tab being almost being $ 400.00 the service was very rude. Guess what he said well, the party next to was $ l,000.00 I said so i guess my money was nothing , I told him you know i think you are the manager I've been talking about, I will find out who the owner is and hung-up on him. So i called another location and told the manager there and he told me that i did have bad service, and he gave me the owners name.. well i call and of course he's not there... So the whole party of 20 felt the same how rude they were and we all said we'll never go there again.... Even though the food was good ,,there good food at of other places and they also have live bands......... s more

Great food, reasonable prices, but... 9/15/2005

I've been to this restaurant two times. It has the best ambiance for any Mexican restaurant in town. Spacious seating, live music on the weekends, wonderful layout, and they even have a fireplace and plasma tv's for those who don't want to miss the game. The food is really good, although the prices are slightly higher than other restaurants of this genre. I would give this restaurant a perfect score, had it not been for the incredibly poor service that I received both times I ate there. The first time my party was seated, the service was great until the food arrived. Then we never saw our waiter again until I got up and went to the bar to ask about our server. Afterwards, we got refills but had to wait an extremely long time to get the check and to-go boxes. The second time the restaurant was crowded and we had to wait at the bar until one was available. I usually sit in the smoking section (which inside only consists of 4 tables). I could see that the tables were cleared, but 45 mins later we still were not called until I went to ask the girl at the front about when it might be available. Once seated, we waited another 15 minutes (again, I had to go ask if there was someone working in our section) to get water and place our drink order. Once our order was placed, the food arrived in 20 minutes but was completely wrong. We had to send it back and wait another 10 minutes. By then, my appetite was gone but the other people in my party loved the food and wolfed it down when it finally came as requested. I would definitely go there again because the food is decent and the setting is appealing, plus they offer coupons regularly. Hopefully they will work on getting their wait staff better trained and the next time will be more enjoyable. more

The best mexican restaurant 7/18/2005

Las Rosas now occupies the building that was Joseph's Seafood. I had visited the other one in Katy and love the chicken tortilla soup. The atmosphere at the Pearland location is great but dining outside on the patio is our favorite. They run great drink specials during the week and the food is always reasonably priced. Highly recommended!!! more

Great Food @ a Great Price! 6/22/2005

As you approach this high-class Mexican food restuarant, you begin to wonder if you can afford to eat there! Upon entering through the double-doors, you can see an excellent layout of tables, locations, side-rooms, and busy (and helpful) waiters and waitresses working to serve. When viewing the menu, the customer will find that their prices are quite low for the atmosphere. When the food comes, it is great-tasting and very-filling. Not only that, but it is a large quantity of well-seasoned food that will make you want to come back for more! more
