The course isn't bad, but for the money I would prefer to play the Reserve

Best Public Course in Portland 4/22/2008

Being an Oregonian and avid golfer it is sometimes hard to find a great course during the winter and springs wet months. Not only is Langdon Farms one of the most dry golf courses in Oregon due to its awesome drainage ( it used to be farmland) but it also very aesthetically pleasing and the staff is very friendly. I have been playing Langdon for 5 years and they offer great cardholder discounts for golfers interested in playing the course on a regular basis. The new Farm Card is a great deal and also gives me access to over 10 courses around the nation at discount rates. I have played in 2 tournaments at Langdon for charity events and had a great time. Not only did we raise money for a great cause but Langdon really did a professional job of running the tournament from start to finish. Overall I give Langdon Farms 5 stars because you simply can't beat the playing conditions in such tricky rainy Portland weather or the thousands of flowers they plant in the summer time..its a great getaway. Although its 20 minutes from Portland it is well worth the drive for a great game of golf any time of year. The grill is good too and they have a pretty good happy hour! \r \r Pros: Dryest Course in Oregon, Event Coordinating Cons: Getting a tee time in the summer due to volume of events more

Langdon 8/13/2003

I love playing this course, don't really like the green fees. Great layout and design, and wonderfull staff. The green fees are a bit steap and I-5 gets a little anoying. I have always enjoyed my rounds at Landgon, I just wish I could afford more. Pros: Great layout, Friendly staff Cons: Expensive, I-5 noise more

Great staff, fun crowd 3/5/2003

A classy, convenient getaway. The view from the tee boxes are panoramic since the trees haven't matured enough to block anything. The rolling terrain and fast greens challenge your short game. My first corporate outing and I had a blast. Service was tip-top. Staff young and motivated. Golfers happy and friendly all-around which makes for a great atmosphere. more

Great Course 3/5/2003

Langdon Farms is actually one of the best bargains in Portland. Last summer I played dozens of rounds for $24 (including cart) during their twilight rates and easily had time for 18, sometimes 27 holes before dark. The course is always in good shape and drains very well. Their staff has always been very friendly, and the food is excellent. I would recommend playing here, just not during their ""prime-time"" rate period. Pros: Cheap twilight rates, Great condition, Fun to play more

Wonderful! Hard to pin down a green fee but that's the only drawback. Pros: great shape, great staff, great layout Cons: getting fee-time more

Great view of I-5 10/11/2002

The course isn't bad, but for the money I would prefer to play the Reserve more

Close and Beautiful 8/28/2002

I live nearby and have enjoyed many visits to Langdon Farms. They have an excellent instruction team and service staff. I am an amature golfer and it is wonderful to play on such a beautiful course without the requitement of an expensive membership! I also love the convenience of their restaraunt. I highly recommend this golf course and restaraunt! Pros: Competitive Rates, Excellent Instruction, Courteous Staff Cons: Busy at times more

Pros: Great value, Excellent condition, Great service Cons: Parking, Very popular, Availibility more

Great Club 8/28/2002

For a public facility this place it great! They've done a terrific job with the course conditions, it just looks awsome! I'd highly suggest making this a regular stop on your golfing schedule. Pros: Great Conditions, Good Service, Nice Restaurant more

Public course/Private amenities! 8/27/2002

Several rounds at Langdon Farms have led me to some strong opinions. The designers (Fought and Cupp) are very good at what they do. The owners of this facility know what the better golfer desires and they pride themselves on delivering. The staff appreciates what private clubs offer and they are trying and succeeding to provide the exact same service level. The course plays tough from the blues, you must be smart and straight from the tees and proficient around the undulating greens. I always show up a bit early to hit the many targets on the grass range or stroke a few on their multiple putting greens. I can walk 18 early weekends and still finish in just over 4 hours as well so I know most of the folks out here know and follow proper golf etiquette. Well worth the 20 minute drive to get south of town! Pros: Lay out, Condition, Service more
