The staff at La Petite are very pleasant and energetic. Teachers are always engaged with the children with activities and it is reflected in the classrooms. You can tell that they really love the children in their care and take pride with enthusiasm to proved excellent care for the families they have. The Director and management are very involved with the families as well. Frequently hosting family events whether at the school or somewhere local like a park or other local business. I recommend this preschool to anyone! more

I really love this place and will hate for son to graduate. They have always been very caring, loving, and professional. I can't imagine my child going anywhere else. I always had piece of mind knowing that he would be taken care of when I dropped him off in the morning. A++++ more

La Petite Academy in Smyrna, TN is a glowing example of a rich learning environment. All of the staff are professional and give me great feedback regarding my grandchildren. If a person writes a bad review about La Petite it's because their child was dismissed for behavior issues or the parent wasn't paying their tuition. I'm glad La Petite dismisses children for behavior problems instead of letting the problem go on. I am saddened to see so many parents not take responsibility for their children's behaviors now-a-days and blame the preschool, teachers, and society for their child being out of control. Be your child's parent people, not their friend!!! Great job La Petite Academy teachers and management!! more

Couldn't be happier 3/7/2012

My oldest child who is know 9 started here at LPA Smyrna when he was 2 months old. He has always excelled in school and I worked with him alot to get him ready for Kindergarten. He is now in a Magnet school and I couldn't have done it myself. She was a wonderful loving and compassionate teacher. My now 5 year old is getting ready to start Kindergarten this fall and I had some concerns because every child is different and he is not on the same level as my oldest son was. He doesn't really have a intrest to learn, however Ms.Andrea has got him so excited to go to "big school" and he can now do everything from writing his name, spelling site words, recognizing all his letters and the sounds they make, colors, numbers, and I could keep going. He has the attitude that he would rather learn from someone else than me or my wife. Happy Dad! 3/7/2012

He doesn't really have a intrest to learn, however Ms.Andrea has got him so excited to go to ""big school"" and he can now do everything from writing his name, spelling site words, recognizing all his letters and the sounds they make, colors, numbers, and I could keep going. He has the attitude that he would rather learn from someone else than me or my wife. My daughter is in the Preschool program and she had some serious seperation issues, because she had stayed home with me for a month while I was unemployed. It took her a couple of weeks to get used to it which broke my heart, but the management and staff emailed pictures at work and called after I left to reassure me she was ok. I have truly been amazed how everyone there goes the extra mile to make the kids safe, happy and the parents as well all while they teach the children thinngs they need to know. I have read some of the negative reviews and all though I am not fully aware of the situation the parent that has made all these nasty threats and allegations told me about this situation and tried to get us to leave as well. Although i was VERY concerned by listening to her she told me she watched in the window for several minutes, I am sorry but if that were my child the police would be there arresting me and I sure wouldn't watch! I talked to managementy and they assured me the situation was being investigated and the Department of Human Services and DCS reported this case Unfounded and there was no police report on file. Also I come in all different times of the day and have never seen a teacher at the computer and they have never been written up for being out of ratio, so I highly doubt the teachers were allowed to come in and write fake reviews. I suggest that if you are looking for a childcare facilty to go tour the school yourself and as a parent you will know which one is a great place for your kids. Its really sad that someone tries to down such a great place because they obviously got kicked out. I am so happy and my kids are too!!!They are safe, secure, compassionate, loving and dependable and that says alot for a parent to feel like they have family taking care of their children more

La Petite is a God send 11/22/2011

Thank you La Petite for everything you have done for my family. When my Mother passed away and we couldn't afford her funeral the director, Ms. Michelle took up money for us. It touched my heart and the hearts of all my family members. Most businesses wouldn't do something like that for anyone but they did. Even before this tragedy happened they were always so loving to my children and helped my oldest child get into the magnet school here in Smyrna. Without their educational program I know he would have never gotten in. Also, several of his classmates from La Petite made in to the magnet school. That says a lot about them and what they do for our children every day. Thanks again! more

3 stars! 11/21/2011

Wonderful daycare with wonderful teachers and staff! The La Petite in Smyrna is so clean and organized. Everyone there is super helpful and caring. I wouldn't take my child to any other daycare in Smyrna. more

Clean and educational 11/21/2011

When my Mother passed away we didn't have enough money for her funeral so the director, Ms. Michelle took up money to help us out. It really touched my heart and the heart of my family. They truly care about the families of La Petite and it shows in everything they do. No where is perfect and if you're looking for perfection you will always be looking but La Petite is as close as you can get to it. My oldest son was accepted into the magnet school here in Smyrna and that is directly because he attended the Pre-K program at La Petite. Not only was he accepted but so was several of his classmates from La Petite. That says a lot about them. I mean I feel like I had something to do with his success also but they were with him more waking hours than I was because I had to work every day. I have never doubted La Petite's ability to care for and education my children. They are an amazing 3 star rated school. You should check them out for yourself! Thanks again La Petite!! more

A 11/21/2011

My family has been with La Petite for over 8 years now and we love it as much today, if not more, than we did 8 years ago. Everyone there is so loving and considerate. Ms. Michelle, the Director has always addressed any questions or concerns I've had in a very timely manner. La Petite gets an A+ in our book. Before believing any negative reviews you should look into any child care facility yourself. Some competitors and disgruntled ex-families have motives for writing negative reviews such as not paying their child care bill or La Petite taking children away from their day cares. more

La Petite has been so wonderful to my family. They are clean, professional, and very educational. I just can't say enough good things about this 3 star rated school. more

Shockingly Bad 10/25/2011

I toured this facility twice in the last couple of years. We went the first time when my daughter was one, and we decided not to send her there at that time because there were ants in the classroom and the room was very small. Then I went back for a second look when my daughter was almost three after some problems at her current daycare. I brought my her and spent an hour there. The classrooms are very noisy because there are no walls between three of them, only short partitions. It has been proven in scientific studies that too much background noise is detrimental to a child's learning, so that in itself is a huge drawback. Then the whole time I was there one of the children was sobbing and crying and the teacher would not offer any comfort. The teacher was very short with the children and never smiled. At one point when they were lined up to come in from outside she said to one of them angrily "Get up! You're not a baby!" after I had been told by an assistant director that they neve more

Very professional 8/4/2011

Since my children cannot be with me 24/7 La Petite is the only other people outside of my family that I would trust with my children. They are an extension of our family. Mrs. Michelle is the most professional and kindest Director I know. Her staff are well trained and always greet us with a smile. My children love the staff at La Petite. more

I WITNESSED THEM ABUSING MY CHILD-THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT IT! 2/21/2011

I personally witnessed a daycare employee abusing my child as well of his 16 mo. old classmates. When you look at the front of La Petite Smyrna, at the very left of the building there is a window to a classroom. I saw the teacher mopping. As I observed, I became disturbed with how she continued to corrall the kids, huddled, in one small area of the room on the carpet so she could clean. She became angrier and angrier with my son who, obviously did not understand that he was suppose to stay on the carpet. She was gritting her teeth as she yanked them by the upper arm back over the the carpet. It was obvious that she was grabbing them pretty hard bc they looked pretty upset. She pushed my son back to the carpet more than once-all the while making angry faces. This continued for several minutes when my young toddler son got off the carpet again to bring her a block. She snatched it out of his hands and threw it across the room then shoved him hard on the back again. I went in, got my son and immediately spoke to the director. The ?teacher? was put on leave for a week and was allowed to come back on a ?safety plan? which meant that she could be there with the children but had to be with another adult at all times. Really!? I asked the director, if you have an adult working with small children that has to be with another adult at all times, doesn?t that tell you that they don?t belong? They tried to smooth it over with their little ?safety plan.? Upon seeing that they allowed the teacher back my husband and I asked Michelle Jones, the director how the situation would be in reverse. ?If you saw a parent abuse one of your employees, having inappropriate physical contact, would that parent be allowed back in this facility?? She stated ?no.? I then went on to point out the obvious ?Well then why in the world is this person who abused my helpless child allowed back in this building? To get a second chance at him?? She tried to quickly usher us out the door so that the other parents would not hear. Not only did this lead us to the sad realization that we had to leave because any daycare that allows a teacher to abuse the children with only a slap on the wrist (a week of leave) obviously 1) does not take this very seriously and 2) are not putting the children first, but the La Petite situation also put us in a scramble to find a new daycare immediately. I am sure that when they see this review, La Petite will again solicit current parents to write reviews refuting this information & give the ole ?disgruntled ex-employee? explanation. If you would like to check into the validity of this review, just call the Smyrna Police department regarding my assault report on the La Petite employee. It happened in January 2011. The director, Michelle, is very good at what she does-as far as selling her daycare. She will tell you anything to your face & acts another way behind your back. She obviously is concerned with nothing more than the bottom line ($$$) for her corporate daycare than she is with the welfare of our most precious asset: our children!! Shame on La Petite! For the record, my son has been at his new daycare for several weeks now. He has come home with not ONE accident report or bruise on his body. Its amazing that with La Petite, we thought that bruises on his head and scratches on his arm were just a normal expectation of daycare!! Good luck to you La Petite. You can take your corporate daycare, your excuses of ?it was not our decision,? blaming the choice to let this employee back on your higher ups and stick it! I have taken my son to a daycare that looks at him as a person, one that is more than a number in your corporate quota mill, someone who however small he is still deserves respect. I am truly disgusted with this daycare! more

The Best Choice for Child Care 11/15/2010

When I needed to move my children from an in-home daycare to a "regular" daycare, I was very nervous about choosing the right one. I toured a couple different daycares in Smyrna but felt the best about LaPetite. The directors are very helpful, the staff is friendly and caring, the school is clean and the structure of the curriculum at each level helps to prepare your child for Kindergarten. My children have been attending LaPetite since 2008 and they are truly happy there! That's the only confirmation that I need to know I made the right choice! more

After searching for childcare for several weeks, when we walked into La Petite Academy in Smyrna, we knew it was the one and have been there for over 3 years now. They have a great curriculum, a clean environment, and they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and like part of a family. I never worry about my child while he is there. He gets tons of love and care while at this facility. The teachers/staff work very hard and go above state guidelines while caring for the children. It is a great childcare facility. more

The best in Smyrna 10/28/2010

Above average school!!! 10/28/2010

La Petite in Smyrna is clean, safe, and a superior learning environment. My children started out at another so-called "Christian" center in Smyrna but I was shocked and horrified to see and hear some of the things that went on there. On the day I took the tour of La Petite I knew in my gut this was the place for us. Everyone is so friendly and really takes the time to get to know you and your child. They have a terrific attitude and feel like family to us. Thank you La Petite, we love you all!! more
