La Bella Pizza Gardens

The management was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I will never book a party at La Bella’s again. \r \r I made a reservation for 3 tables at 2:00 pm in the new game center side of La Bella’s for Saturday November 22, 2014 for my daughters end of season soccer party. I arrived a little early at approx. 1:30 in which I was told my reservation was not until 2:30 however 2 tables were available and I was able to prep the cake table and setup our trophies. I asked the manager (James) when the third table would be ready as there was a party occupying the table and he said it would be available by 2:30. I was not exactly pleased with my party having to wait 30 minutes for our table but let it go as our entire party had not arrived yet. As it got closer to 2:30 I again asked our assigned waitress as to when the party was expected to depart in which she said they only had the tables until 2:30 and ensured me my reservation was for 3 tables. \r \r Once the party left and the table was cleaned and set my party occupied the table. About 15 minutes later the Manager James came and informed me that I did not make reservations for 3 tables but 2 and we needed to move. I argued that I in fact made reservations for 3 tables and knew for a fact that we were expecting 35-40 people (each table seated only 15) and needed at least 3 tables. He said we HAD to move. He was very unapologetic and when I said I would give a bad review for this online he shrugged his shoulders and rolled his eyes and said he didn’t care (great for business!). He then made our party move from the table. We had to eat in shifts so everyone had a chance to sit down to enjoy their food. \r \r The party that was seated at our third reserved table also complained to the same Manager (James) because they had made a reservation for more people than the 15 seat table could seat in which James responded “can’t the parents go sit somewhere else.” REALLY! They informed us that they made reservations for room in the back of the restaurant which another party was in. They kicked us out of our reserved table because they made a mistake! \r \r We were offered no apologies by management whatsoever for the inconvenience. I apologized to the waitress and let her know I knew it was not her fault when she responded “Don’t worry this happens every Saturday.” Well at least they are consistent! I am team mom for my daughters team and will never bring our team parties to this establishment nor will I ever recommend this establishment to any other teams. more

Are you kidding me??? This was the worst experience in my life! Veal Parmesan looked like burnt coal with tons of cheese on it and the Lasagna was more cheese than pasta and cold in the middle!! The appetizer was Batter Dipped Green Beans that looked and tasted like burnt match sticks!! Outrageous! The Garlic Bread???????????? Where's the Garlic and you forgot to take it out of the oil! Well the Beer was good! They get top ratings for what?? You can't screw up a pizza! People are regulars of 22 years??? My God you need to get away and go to say Mc Donalds then! I'd get better frozen food from them!! I've been a Chef for 20+ Years and to consider this experience anything but absolutely horrible is a resounding understatement. The owners should be ashamed and should fire the so called cooks ASAP! more

HORRIABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE I KNOW I WILL NEVER ORDER IT AGAIN.... We order at 5:25pm, I order a french bread 20" with hamburger and chef salad no peperchinies or olives ranch on the side and egg At 6:20ish we received a 20" french bread with spinach and a chef salad with Italian dressing.... >:/ called and said we received the wrong order at 6:28pm told them we needed ranch and hamburger 20" french bread pizza, 50 minutes after calling for our right order we received our pizza and then called again and said we didn't receive any ranch driver came back with a whole new salad yes ranch but peperchinies and olives on the salad they also took the spinach pizza back?? What they think they can resale a pizza that's been sitting in the cold for almost an hour??? then our pizza was cold when received we will never order from la Bella's again more

I love La Bella for several of all the right reasons! They have been in Chula Vista for as long as I can remember. We use to go to La Bella or Mona Lisa after the football games back in the 1970?s. We were a bunch of routy kids having a great time and we were always welcomed, no matter how loud we got! The food is great and so is the environment and service! A wonderful place to dine! more

The service here is the worst I ever seen. If they actually get your order right, they serve you some rock hard crap you'll break your teeth\r on and God forbid you make the mistake of complaining about it, cause they don't give a crap. I use to go there when I was in high school and lived in the area. I have since moved to San Bernardino County and had not been there in some time. I just recently went there to meet up with family and friends and I was shocked to see such a beautiful transformation. The place is bigger and better, and the food is 10x more awesome than I remember. These folks have great service and fresh and delicious food. They have everything you could want in a quality restaurant. more

I've been going to la Bella's since I was a kid. It's hard to see your favorite place just slowly change, and just keep on getting worse. Very bad service, like once I ordered pizza and it was delivered late and cold. Second the service, for some reason makes u feel like u should be grateful that u r there. Not that much dedication to the customer anymore. Really sad to see my most remembered and favorite place in the world go down slowly????? more

Have gone to LaBella for 35 years or more. For the last year or two I have seen the service going down hill fast. There are managers and owners walking around talking to staff but they seldom acknowledge a customer. They certainly never inspect what comes out of the kitchen. Used to eat breakfast there 2-3 times a week but have quit that. No consistency at all and the cook has no idea how to scramble an egg and the fried ones are a crap shoot. Potatoes can be delicious or half raw.\r \r I ordered a pizza by telephone for home delivery. After 1 /12 hrs I called to check on it. Was told by the girl "we ARE busy...it is Saturday night you know ... it's on the way". An hour later I called again and asked for the manager. He told me the order had never been entered and said I should have asked for the manager when I called the 2nd time.No apology. All of a sudden it was my fault. Me and my friends have been going there since high school. . .ummm, that was almost 20 years ago. But since Papa Tony's passing (R.I.P. and respect!) things have changed. I decided to order by phone this time, since we didn't want to eat in the restaurant due to most of the people there are just "working" not "serving". . .uh, hello, you are a waitress and that's the job you picked, right? Anyway. . .I had the girl on the phone REPEAT my order twice, okay, TWICE. I picked up my order and how hard is cheezy bread to mess up. It's cheese and bread! Geeeeez! 14 of us walked in without reservations. We were seated promptly. Orders were taken and GREAT food was served in a timely manner. Pros: Nice people to do business with. more

I was invited to a babyshower at La Bella's and I was dissatisfied with their lasagna. The waiters must have been in a hurry because our lasagna was still frozen in the middle and our coffee was warm not hot at all. I don't understand why they weren't up to standards, we were the only party going on at that time. I wouldn't recommend eating there maybe just call in for delivery. more

I decided to try to this pizza place by reading the other reviews on this website and was pleasantly surprised. It was nice with ample seating and the food was great (I think I still have some leftover pizza in my fridge). I went there and had a large pizza with friends and as an appetizer I had the jalapeno poppers which were excellent. I recommend this Le Bella Pizza Garden profusely. PROS: Quality food, Good service, and they deliver too CONS: Didn't have the stomach to eat it all ;) more

I LIVED IN CHULA VISTA, CA FOR 27 YEARS. I HAVE ENJOYED LA BELLA'S PIZZA ALL OF THE YEARS THAT I LIVED THERE. THEY HAVE THE BEST PIZZA IN ALL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. MY GRANDMOTHER WAS A GOOD FRIEND OF LA BELLA. WE HAD MANY HAPPY TIMES THERE. MY PARENTS 49TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY WAS ONE OF THE MOST FUN TIMES THERE. LA BELLA AND HER STAFF ARE WONDERFUL, FRIENDLY, CARING PEOPLE THAT I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER DEARLY, WHEN I THINK OF ALL THE WONDERFUL MEALS WE SHARED. THANK-YOU, JOANN D. This place has really good pizza. They do not skimp on the topping. They deliver virtually anywhere in Chula Vista (although they do charge a fee, most pizza places do now anyway). It is a family owned business and they have remodeled the restaurant (I haven't seen it since the remodel). It was great before, I'm sure it is even better now! The sandwiches are good too! Huge portions! The prices are excellent! more
