Best

Anyone who doesn't like this everyday bistro is nuts. We go there 2 times a month and the food and service is top notch. Lunch is great too, but the service part is a bit lacking...

Worst

This place has deteriorated . The staff and owner are loud and rudely talk at the bar. THE BRANZINO WAS SOME OTHER FISH AND NOT GOOD AT THAT. IT TOOK FOREVER TO GET THE FOOD AND M...

We go once a month! 2/10/2007

I have to admit, we usually order the same thing when we go, but it's always wonderful! I love the salad with salmon on top - and my husband loves the filet mignon. Everything is wonderfully seasoned and we love the atmosphere. Pros: Excellent food more

Terrible service, Overpriced, Average Food 2/2/2007

Me and my husband were very excited to try Le Petit, since we had heard good things about it. We went on Valentines Day and it ruined our night. The wait staff was really rude, and the food was not good. It was a huge dissapointment. Cons: rude staff, average food at a high price more

Mini trip to Paris 1/21/2007

My favorite French bistro in town. They have the standards down pat. Nothing ahead of the culinary curve, just good reliable bistro food. Boullabaise, steak frite, cassoulet, sole meuniere... you get the picture. Seating is straight out of Paris too - booth seating lines the perimeter (for the ladies, good gents) and tight tables in the center. Pros: Reliable, authentic Cons: None that I can think of more

Wonderful food and impeccable service! 1/14/2007

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food is always delicious, the atmosphere is cozy, but very pleasant, and the service is consistently the best I have at any restaurant in LA. This is a short review, because I really have no complaints. The food is definitely the best French food I've found without getting into the extremely expensive restaurants. I've been here many times, and it's always a great experience! Pros: Great food, and fantastic service! Cons: None. When it's at maximum capacity, it's pretty cozy, but it's still pleasant. more

Overall Exellence 1/8/2007

Finally, a reliable French bistro in LA! On our first visit to Le Petit Bistro, we enjoyed a prompt, courteous and tidy staff; good affordable wine; and a French Onion soup to write home about. Petit's hearty meat dishes and other stomach-warming European entrees came at a price that didn't break the bank (think about $100 for two) and the delectable dessert was big enough to share. The meal pleased me, but more importantly, my fiancee, who is VERY particular about her food. We never felt rushed for an instant, and to top off the night we saw a celebrity eating there -- Dayton Callie from HBO's ""Deadwood""! Great dining experience, recommended to all who seek a well-prepared, not-too-filling meal. Pros: Fast, clean, delicious Cons: Close quarters, but it's a bistro! more

authentic French cuisine 11/2/2006

My husband & I started going here when our daughter was in her early teens (she just graduated from College). Over the years it has had it's ups and downs, but overall it is a consisently good place to dine. The food is well above average for the price, portions are good and the service is johnny on the spot. The owners are charming in that after they see you are a regular, come over to the table, buy you a drink or give you a free desert to make sure you know they appreciate your patronage. What more can you ask for! Pros: friendly, never a long wait, food is consistently good Cons: service can be slow when they are at capacity more

Cozy Dining 9/21/2006

I've been to this restaurant a few times and always had an enjoyable night. The food is authentic and the prices are reasonable. There is a great wine selection. Service is friendly too which is sometimes a rare treat in this area. Pros: Food, valet parking Cons: Not good for large groups, noisy more

Why spend the money to fly to Paris? 11/20/2005

This restaurant has become one of my local favorites in West Hollwood. The regular menu has exquisite food choices (the roasted chicken and lamb shank are recommended) which can be enjoyed for an average price of 15 dollars. Plus, as you are enjoying your meal, softly spoken French will waft throughout the restaurant by French patrons and waiters. I make it a point to bring my out-of-town guests to this incredible establishment. The only downside: some of the servers I have experienced are up-sellers and pressure you a bit too much for wine/dessert to the point that you feel a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, great place, very romantic! Pros: inexpensive, incredible food, Parisian ambience Cons: pushy waiters more

Authentic french food in a charming setting! 10/20/2005

This restaurant is absolutely adorable and charming. We sat in the walled patio, and it was very beautiful. The waiters are all French and incredibly welcoming, and the owner even personally thanked us for our business on the way out! That is definitely hard to find in LA. The restaurant also felt like it wasn't in LA either, which was so nice! What was great about this restaurant, was that all the other tables were filled with French patrons -- which definitely points to the quality of the food! The food was impeccable (the piccata chicken in lemon butter and the hazelnut gelato dessert were delicious), and they definitely do not pressure you to hurry your meal. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the size of the tables -- very very small! Otherwise, great ambience and food!!! Pros: ambience, authentic food, excellent staff Cons: tiny tables, can get noisy more
