The sushi was ok. The restaurant was not nicest but it was better than the sushi. Over all it was not bad, but defenatly not the best I've had! I did'nt have any of their dinner's so I can't say anything about that... but the best thing about my experience at Kinjo's was their service. Also, I can find must more reasonably priced sushi elsewhere. more

Best sashimi 10/10/2009

Here we get the best sashimi - outside of Japan. We have lived for some months in Japan, and we go to Japan, mostly for the food. Sashimi demands the best quality fish, and Kinjo's knows, and serves a fantastic dish, Sashimi A. Cons: none more

A must 7/29/2009

I am a native of St. Pete, but live in NE Asia, which is famous for sushi/sashimi. However, it is very hard to find a place here of the same quality and affordable price as Kinjo's. Though my trips home are brief, they never are without a trip to Kinjo's. Pros: Generous portions Cons: Not located near my home in NE Asia! more

Best shushi bar! Delicious Food, Friendly service, Resonable 7/28/2009

Looking for a Japanese restaurant to have great time with your family? Look no more! Kinjo restaurant is the place you want to be. I had been a customer at Kinjo since 1999. I had been to the major cities in the U.S. such as San Francisco, New York, L.A., Houston, Atlanta, San Jose-CA. I love shushi, therefore I tried different Japanese restaurant when I travel. I demand the best shushi bar. None, can compare to Kinjo! On several occations, I travel to the Far East, I stayed at Nikko hotel in Osaka. It was a five stars hotel. I was hungry and craving for sashimi. I told myself, why not try it here. My experience, Can't compare to Kinjo. One time I had visited Singapore, I tried shushi bar there. My experience, Kinjo is superb quality and surpass them all. I go to Kinjo way before I was married. When I am married, took my wife to Kinjo, she had never eat sushi before, but after a couple of time, she love it. We go there at least 1 week. Now I have three kids, they all love Kinjo Restaurant. JamesC007us Pros: Deliciously fresh shushi - Best service - Resonable price Cons: The aromas of the food turn on my appertize! more

Kinjo's Japanese Restaurant...Something for Everyone :) 7/25/2009

Everything is special at Kinjo"s, starting with the proprieter himself. Kinjo is St. Petersburg's personal "Iron Chef" but better. Under Kinjo's guidence, I never feel stress coming from the staff. As soon as you walk through the door you are greeted by smiling faces and are taken care of as if you are the only diners in the place. We usually sit at the Sushi Bar but if you are seated at a table Linda keeps the floor organised and flowing and you are never left without something to munch on in front of you. I worked in the business for many years and this is not an easy task, especially when the chefs are right out in front of you! The food is ALWAYS fresh which is critical when it comes to Sushi and Sashimi. If you prefer something cooked, the menu does not lack cuisine to delight even the most discerning palate. The noodles are superb and as you continue to slurp and the ingredients meld, the flavor is constantly changing as if by magic. Even something that many gourmands would not consider trying like a "simple" Tempura would change their opinion of the dish once they've tried it. The batter is so light I don't know how it stays on; and the presentation is both simple and elegant with an edible garnish of batter dipped mixed veggies. Want something different? Just ask Kinjo to surprise you, you will never be disappointed. I could go on but you're just going to have to go try it for yourself, just in case for some strange reason you haven't made it there yourself. New to town maybe? Oh yeah, did I mention the beautiful wood carvings...... Pros: If you can't find something to your liking here, you won't f Cons: It's hard to stop eating even when your brain yells "Slow do more

kinjo's japanese Restaurant 7/18/2009

We went to kinjo's for dinner and when I walked into the place it smelled so bad I wanted to leave. My husband said not to worry so we sat down. I can not even begin to tell you how awful it was. I could not even eat the sushi. I know that the coments on this page come from the owner and his family, and for all of you that don't believe this, go in kinjo's on a saturday night ay 7:00 and see how many people are in there. Cons: smells really bad and the owner is nasty!! more

I moved to Tampa a year ago and I have been all over Tampa and the St. Pete area and I keep coming back to Kinjo's. The sushi is excellent! The rolls are larger than anyone else's I have ever seen. The prices are great considering the size of the rolls. My personal favorite the Crazy roll. You should really give it a shot if you want great sushi. more

Whenever we want Sushi that is fresh we go to Kinjo. It's a small place and the food is great. Sushi is prepared excellent with large portions of fish. Tempura is the best as all the other meals. You will not be disappointed. We have never been in years....... more

Fresh Sushi 2/22/2005

We have been eating there for may years. The sushi is always fresh and the presentation is wonderful. The fish pieces are thicker and fuller than many of the other Japanese Restaurants we have eaten in. The other dishes are excellent too. We have brought friends to Kinjo's who have never had Japanese food (or sushi) and turned them on to it. more
