King Chiropractic PLLC

I like to call Dr. King my miracle worker. I've been playing sports and running for years and have always been plagued by one injury or another. I always seemed to be in recovery mode. This last time I felt severe pain in my IT band while runnning the Quintiles 1/2 marathon this spring. I figured I'd do the same thing I'd always done and use rest, ice, heat, stretching, anti-inflammatories, and lots of walking. I thought I'd be back in no time to train for the Marine Corps Marathon this fall. But, this time my same thing plan didn't work. After 4 months of pain, my couch finally sent me to Dr. King. I told him what hurt every time I tried to start running. Dr. King used ART on my leg and I remember being amazed at how much range of motion I had. I didn't realize how tight and constricted my muscles and connective tissue had become. So I went to Dr. King twice a week and had him work through each area I felt was tight. After the first week, I started jogging slowly with my running group. After the second week, I was running happily with my group. After the third, I was back running full speed and all of the pain was gone, including lingering old injury pain. I cannot thank Dr. King enough for helping me get back on my marathon training plan so quickly. As much pain as I was in, I really do consider it a miracle that I feel so good. more

I started seeing Dr. King in March for a less than typical chiropractic problem with my knee. When I met with him for the first time he made me feel at ease. He took the time to explain to me why he was doing the treatment he was and also explained that if he didn't see results after our treatment plan he would refer me to a specialist. I am a very active athlete and I never like to take time off. Dr. King understood my lifestyle and developed a treatment plan around it. While I was still getting work on my knee done I injured my back and I was so thankful that I had a Dr. that I trusted that I could call immediately. Dr. King was able to see me that day. I had met Dr. King in other settings and appreciated his relaxed, friendly manner. When I found that other chiropractic treatment wasn't able to get rid of my neck/shoulder/arm pain, I sought out his A.R.T. expertise. I'm thrilled to say I'm now pain free after only two treatments! Dr. King took a lot of time with me during the initial evaluation and the treatments. I highly recommend him! more

After nearly 20 years of various types of chiropractic adjustments, I am totally sold on the methods utilized by Active Release Technique, which Dr. King uses. It is a ""gentler approach"" than traditional table-drop snap-and-pop techniques, that seems to employ more assisted stretching through range of motion. Not only is it more comfortable to experience, but you are less sore the next day and the results seem longer lasting. Dr. King is also very personable with a good bedside manner, and ""unchiropractor-like"" in the sense that he is not trying to ""sell you"" on a package deal. His rates are also reasonable, and I would highly recommend him to anyone - but especially those with chronic muscolo-skeletal injuries. more

This doctor cares like none other I've seen. He not only listens, but takes action based on what you said and his assessment of what's going on with your body. He gives do-able advice and won't treat you beyond what is necessary for results. He will refer you out if need be, but so far, I haven't needed any one else. The A.R.T. therapy is great for soft tissue work, and it's good to see that chiropractic medicine has grown to helping aching extremeties, not just backs! I would recommend this doctor highly! more

Dr. King is an excellent chiropractor. Not only can he give you an ajustment that is more specific to YOUR NEEDS than any other doctor, but if your joints aren't the problem then he work the soft tissue, or he get you the arch supports that actually work, or find some other way. And if by chance your that rare person that he just can't help then he's not going to B.S. you, He tells you he can't help you and puts you in contact with someone he feels would be able to help. You won't find many doctors that are this focused on actually getting you better instead helping their wallet. Thank you Dr. King more

Dr. King is amazing. I have been using his services for over a year now and he has seen my through 1 full marathon and 2 half marathons. I am a personal training and workout a lot and I have pounded that pavement and destroyed by body with all this running and yet he has been able to keeping me going. He listens to what I have to say and keeps me informed and gives me great advice along with wonderful chiropractic care. I would refer all of my clients, friends, and family to him. My experience with Dr. King has been great. I went from being in almost constant pain and tension in my lower back to being able to surf and golf again.\r I had personally gotten frustrated with the lack of attention and concern from other Dr.s, Dr. King actually listened to my concerns and issues i was having day in and day out. He even gave me the tools and information to help myself with overcoming my lower back issues outside of his office.\r I never felt like just another client to pass though. more

Four to five times every year for maybe a 5-6 year period, I would get a shooting pain in my mid-back that would have me drop to the floor. I am a mechanic so I move alot and having my back out isn't good for business. My wife got connected with Dr. King and she began receiving adjustments. I haven't been the biggest fan of chiropractors so I really wasn't interested. My interest peaked though when one day I started feeling that mid-back pain coming on. It always gave me a little warning before it brought me to my knees so this time I listened to the warning (at my wife's urging!) and scheduled an appointment with Dr. King. I first met Dr. King through the Wilmington Health Nuts. I was new to Wilmington and thought this was the kind of meetup I would enjoy. \r \r I'm in my mid-30s so excellent health is now on my mind! I know good spinal health is a key ingredient so with that intention I began seeing Dr. King for adjustments. \r \r I like that Dr. King listens to what I need, listens to my concerns and is attentive to my goal--long-lasting health and vitality. I have not had to use Dr. King's Chiropractic services but every encounter myself and my friends have had with him through Wilmington Health Nuts has been fantastic. He is well organized, professional, and always comes up with unique fun fitness inspired activities for us to engage in twice a month. The fact that he has come up with such a healthy way to get his community out and about says a lot about him as a person and a doctor. I would recommend him highly for this group and any Chiropractic services that you may need. more

I was weary when I first thought of going to the Chiropractor. I had never been and some had told me that sometimes you are worse off then before you went. That is simply not the case. I had severe pain in my lower back. I also had a reoccurring pain that would come and go in my upper right shoulder. I remember Dr. King had a great personality and eagerness right from the start ,to the patient's Wellness. We created a chart of yourself to specifically monitor all types of improvement or not. You have to remember that a big part of back pain is the way you treat yourself. You have to be careful with your back while you are getting treatment or it's going to be hard getting to the root of it. We discussed flexible payment plans. I am a full-time College student, so I had to watch what I spend. Dr. King worked with me and came up with a good plan. I ended up going 2 times a week. I went for a little over a month. I had planned to go longer, but got to feeling pretty good. Dr. King is very thorough at finding the root of the problem that is causing your pain and not masking the problem up. Mine would get better and then bad at times. Dr. King sent me through a course of Spinal Decompression. I had read up on it at the time. I read some great and some not so great. It's basically pulling your spine with pressure at different levels to try to align better. I think it's one of the procedures along with Dr. King that helped me the most! I am very glad that I picked him for my first Chiropractor. When I get out of College and my finances get better. I plan on going for spinal adjustments. Thank you again! more
