My Children Love This Place 4/28/2010

My son and daughter love this place and that is the most important thing to me! The staff seems to know them and their personal learning styles. They encourage the parents to get involved and participate with parties and events. My children have both attended since they were 3 months old and are now 4 and 2. Love that they have facebook and website now. The location is extremely convenient for anyone who lives in Falcon Pointe, Blackhawk, or Villages of Hidden Lake in Pflugerville. We actually moved homes within a mile to stay in range to continue sending our kids here as well as the other schools off Kelly Lane in the future. The only drawback I have experienced is some years they get paid holidays such as President's Day and teacher workdays for which I have to pay to send my kids to another location those days, but the benefits overweigh this. Pros: Experience, Interaction, Location, Price Cons: Some non-typical paid holidays/workdays more

Trustworthy, and Exceptional Care 4/26/2010

My two sons have been attending Kinder Haus for six years. My first son was cared for in home for six months. I was incredibly nervous about finding the right place for him. I checked out every available child care center in Pflugerville, and they terrified me. They either appeared unsafe, overcrowded, impersonal, or even the big expensive ones (Courtyard) felt like a kennel for babies. I didn't want a babysitter for my child. I was searching for a place that treated my son as an individual, and nurtured them through laughter, music, and play. I stumbled on Kinder Haus, and scheduled a visit with Ms. Glenda. At first glance, I was a little nervous about the ""Mom and Pop"" shop feeling. But as we toured, I saw the energy beaming from all the kids at Kinder Haus. Every classroom had children filled with smiles. What really drew me to KH was that loving feeling, the home cooked meals that Ms. Glenda prepares for the school, the truly advanced curriculum, and ultimately, the tenure of the staff. At the time I enrolled my first son (and they were on a wait list at the time), the LEAST tenured teacher had been there 7 years. Six years later, the staff now has 81 years of experience - that's an 8 year avg each! I know that Ms. Glenda, Ms. Robin, and Ms, Cyndi all have over 20 years at KH, and it's absolutely a family business. Since then, my youngest son has joined KH. He stayed at home with a Grandma that moved to my area shortly after he was born. He stayed with Grandma much longer than I would have preferred, and had issues socializing. Ms. Robin had him feeding himself, potty trained, and jammin with the other kids in just a few weeks. Pros: Love, Character Building, Safe Cons: Wow, I couldn't think of any! more

Great teachers, great safety record, country setting 4/22/2010

Our daughter loves it here. She started at 6 months and we've found the infant/toddler staff to be very experienced, patient, and thoughtful. They treat our baby as an individual and accomodate her dietary restrictions without question. The staff is knowledgable and versed in gentle discipline, positive redirection, and age-appropriate conflict resolution. Babies are held as much as possible from what I can tell, and each age group has an age-appropriate outdoor play area. The center is on farm land, and the kids can watch cows and donkeys through the back windows, which is wonderful for the babies and toddlers. Pros: teachers/staff, inspection history, AP-friendly Cons: driveway needs work, short hours more

Nice people but not safe 7/7/2008

My kids have been going here for a couple years and even though the staff is friendly and my kids love them, my 2 year old daughter has been bitten 5-6 times so far this year alone. 3 bites were in a 5 day span. Unfortunately, the only action taken is to send a note home to the parents saying their child has been bitten and/or is biting. I would not suggest starting your children here. We have been sucked in and it has become a dilema of weighing our child's safety against our kids emotional stability. It is a tough situation to be in and I would not wish it on any parent. Therefore, I feel I should inform parents who are considering KinderHaus of our issues so they can be forewarned and ready before committing their children to this facility. Pros: Staff Cons: Safety more
