amazing expericen 5/9/2010

My husband and I was recommended to this restaurant by our friends. We were told to try the vietnamese egg rolls, the beef rolls, the coconut and curry beef, and their vietnamese fajitas. The restaurant has a nice interior, though seem old but still beautiful. We were seated outside at the patio. And I must say, the patio was beautifully decorated with white table cloth complimented by a man made lake view. Very nice indeed! our waiter was very pleasant and attentive. However, what i love most about this restaurant is vietnamese egg-rolls! It's a must have. Also, their mekong spicy fish is very well flavored. I would recommend this place to everyone who have yet to try this wonderful restaurant. Pros: everything was amazing more

Must try Mekong spicy Fish 3/1/2010

It was tasty to eat with steamed rice in hot temperature!!! and it cooks with basil leaf....must try more

horriable food, worse service 2/12/2010

Everything was horraible about the KIM SON in Stafford. We took my mom there for her birthday, the hostest was too busy talking to his buddies, the waiter did not seem like he wanted to be there, the food was bland, tasteless and just horriable, I don't know how this place stays in business. This one is nothing like their downtown location and the Chinatown locaiton. Cons: Horriable food, horriable serivce more

HORRIBLE SERVINGS AND SERVICE 1/26/2010

My company ordered lunch in since we were working around the clock. Once we received our food we were extremely upset. We all order lunch combos and they only gave us 5 pieces of chicken spoonful of veggies and NO RICE!!! When specifically started 'Fried rice on all orders!' It was nowhere near worth the money they charge!!! I called and asked for some of my money back because of the shocking disappointment in the servings. After having to speak to a manager, I was reassured that I would receive some of my money back...Because we all got half of a meal. This place will NEVER get our company's business again because they screwed us on the meal, and lied about refunding money!!!!!!! NEVER RECEIVED OUR REFUND!!! Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

Best steam shrimp dumpling, others too Vietnamese style 4/12/2007

The steam shrimp dumpling is the best in town. Fried taro is also delicious. Other Dim Sum is kind of Vietnamese. Service is fast. Pros: Service Cons: Too Vietnamese more

They no longer serve dim sum 2/15/2007

Food is always good to excellent, the service, if they are busy it is poor at best, if half full or less service is good. Pros: food variety Cons: service and they do not have dim sim any longer more

WORST SERVICE, WORST EXPERIENCE 6/15/2006

I had an anniversary party here for 180 people. The service was TERRIBLE. The manager was RUDE. The air conditioner was not working. The bathroom was FILTHY. I will NEVER do business with this establishment again. more

Grew up on this great food. 7/28/2005

My family has been coming to Kim Son since it opened its doors at the original Houston location. I can remember being a child and standing in lines winding out the doors to get in on busy weekends. Over the years I have come to love this place more and more. I was so excited when they opened up the Stafford location closer to my home! Try the Dim Sum. It is a fun, educational, yummy, and occasionally surprising experience! Great for a group. The vermicelli dishes are my favorite and several of the menu offerings are very healthful and fresh. The vegetarian spring rolls and crispy egg rolls are the best anywhere...wrap in lettuce, basil, and mint and dip in spicy fish sauce! Service is pretty good and the huge fish tank is usually well kept and beautiful. Can get pretty loud on busy nights though. more

It's yummy! 6/12/2005

I love Kim Son and and this is as good as the others... the only thing is they need a new dishwasher. The silverware and plates are never clean. Other than that the food is great. Pros: food, fishtank, outdoor dining Cons: unclean dishes more

Everything is great, but no dim sum. 5/18/2005

We like Kim Son a lot, but we were told that Dim Sum is not being served anymore. more

Wonderful 7/6/2004

Been to this Kim Son several times for Dim Sum, and the food was great each time. The service varies from time to time, but usually not anything outstanding. As long as you're up for authentic dim sum, this place is great. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Inexpensive more

Excellent food! 3/1/2004

I would recommend the fried squid and the yummy desserts! Everytime I go to Kim Son, I always look forward to the desserts! =) Pros: food, inexpensive more

Great Dim Sum ... 9/22/2002

Kim Son offers a great selection of dim sum items on Saturday and Sunday and during some special holidays at the Sugarland location only (as far as I know). They have a good selection of entrees, pretty reasonable prices and the ambience is very Oriental. The restauranat can sometimes be very noisy during the lunch hours and the weekends. My complaint about the service is that the waitstaff does not know to suggest wine with the entrees. I know how to select wine but the person not familiar with wine and entrees, the suggestions would be nice. The Campfire Beef is a great choice. Do not expect noodle soup (pho) here as most restaurants that have an extensive menu selection do not ""specialize"" in soups unless they state it. You can tell by the name, ""Pho ..."" more
