super karate/martial arts studio for kids 2/1/2010

The Kenyon’s have a wonderful way of teaching kids. Kids of all ages adore and respect them. Their teaching incorporates a profound knowledge of the history, philosophy, theory and practice of martial arts and innate pedagogic skills. Master Kenyon explains the theory behind each complex form that the student will acquire as second nature and that form the building blocks of this discipline. What I also like is the sheer joy and laughter that emerges between the at first shy but increasingly powerful kia during warm up and training! There many other reasons I particularly appreciate Kenyon’s Soo Bahk Do. First, every child will quickly learn that teaching and volunteering is an integral part of this community. Second, as children get older, some classes are taught by two or more highly qualified teachers that greatly complement Master Kenyon’s classes. Each teacher contributes to a different aspect of the students’ enrichment. Elements of philosophy, meditation, yoga, breathing techniques, self defense are incorporated into the training and kids and adults leave the studio uplifted and with a sense of purpose and resolve. Pros: learn much more than just self-defence more

Soo Bahk Do Rules! 1/25/2010

When my husband first suggested that I join him at Kenyon's Soo Bahk Do after my old aerobics gym closed, I was a little leery; martial arts didn't really seem like something women like me got involved in. Boy was I wrong. I have now been studying the traditional Korean martial art of Soo Bahk Do for the past 10 years and I love it. Daymon Kenyon (7th degree) and his wife Vicki (5th degree) are both masters in the art and wonderful instructors. It has been a great experience and I recommend it to everyone, women and children in particular. Pros: Instruction in traditional Korean martial art of Soo Bahk Do more

Excellent Martial Arts Instructors 1/25/2010

Kenyon's Soo Bahk Do has been in business for over 40 years. The business was started in Pacific Beach by Fred Kenyon in 1968 and is currently run by his son, Daymon Kenyon and his wife Vicki. Vicki Kenyon, a 5th degree master in the art of Soo Bahk Do, is the head instructor at the Solana Beach studio. She is a knowledgeable and talented martial artist and a dedicated and dynamic instructor. My wife and I love studying Soo Bahk Do and have attended classes at both the Pacific Beach and Solana Beach studios. Soo Bahk Do has made us healthier both physically and mentally, and the martial arts instruction at Kenyon's Soo Bahk Do is of the highest quality. If you are interested in learning the martial arts or are looking for a martial arts program for your children, you can't go wrong with Kenyon's Soo Bahk Do. Pros: Knowledgeable and dynamic instructors more
