Used to be good, not anymore 6/16/2010

I used to love the one on Sheridan, but the last couple of times I have been there the service has been really bad and the tables were absolutely filthy. I went today and it took 25 minutes to get my food, and when I did the order was wrong. This was at 1:30 pm so it's not like they were in the middle of lunch rush, there was only one person there ahead of me. The burger was dry and forgettable, and the onion rings (instead of the fries I ordered) were burnt. If the entire staff were not stoned out of their gourd then they were doing an amazingly lifelike impression. I'm sad to say I won't be going back, not as long as Griff's is only a couple of blocks from home. Cons: Horrible service, dirty, got order wrong more

The best burgers 3/12/2008

I lived in Denver most of my life and have been eating at Jim's Burger Haven for 45 plus years. My husband and I started eating there when they were on the corner at 84th and a block west of Washington. I don't remember the name of the street. They didn't have seating and all you did was get your order and take it home. We moved to Wyoming 18 years ago but I still make it a point to eat at Jim's when I come to town. Keep making the good hamburgers. Pros: Good food more

JIMS BURGER HEAVEN 2/3/2007

My family and I live in eastern Nebraska and no trip to Colorado is complete without eating at Jims.Throw your diet out the window and order the double meat with cheese. A more acurate name would be Jims Burger Heaven. Pros: Always good more

Great eats 11/8/2006

I really enjoyed eating at Jim's. Good burgers, great price, and easy going atmosphere. Double meat with bacon, yummy! Pros: Inexpensive, Great Food more

Great Value and Fun!! 11/8/2006

Ok I have seen a couple haters on here and everyone is intitled to their oppinion. I have been going to Jims as Long as I can remember. It is one of the places that is a great Diner joint which I am sorry to say is sorely lakeing in this city anymore. I remember when there used to be the azar big boys now they are great scotts eatery, etc... And I have to say that Jims is the only true Diner left in town! I love the atmosphere and the cars!! more

best all around yummy piece of history left in burgersville 9/20/2006

i have been eating at jims since my dad took us there in the sixties. this is one of those places that can't be duplicated. the burgers are huge and yummy. i realize that some people like their burgers a certain way. jims are great, so are the ham and cheese, malts, shakes, fries and rings.a real unique piece of nostalgia. don't listen to the haters. get down to jims and have a slice of haven! get it? start your own tradition here and enjoy. Pros: the food and history Cons: there's onlytwo more

I'm surprised to see this one on the top 10 list. 9/11/2006

Definitely disappointed. The atmosphere is interesting, but the burgers sucked! Both my husband and I agreed it wasn't worth going back. The shake or malt was OK, fries and onion rings were OK, bugers were way below average. Definitely not worth a top ten categorey. Pros: Cute kids meals in a car box Cons: the food was terrible more

Nothing to write home about. 7/10/2006

I read the reviews and decided to give this place a shot. The burger was ""OK!"" at best. I was not impressed. I ordered their onion rings and I did not find anything that would warrant a return trip. Pros: Not expensive. Cons: Average taste and quality. more

It's all right...but there's much better... 5/27/2006

Heard rave reviews and went. Micky Manor at 26th and Federal with the old Rockybilt burgers, Bud's in Sedalia, My Brother's Bar, the Cherry Cricket .....and even Sonic and Good Times are better to me...more flavor. If I lived in the area I probably would go back and try a small double meat just to be sure. So much bun you fill up on that when you just get a single patty. Not bad...just not outstanding. more

You Have To get a Double Meat Burger 10/18/2005

If you haven't been pleased with the burgers at Jim's you probably haven't tried a double meat. See Jim's uses 100% Colman beef specially made thin patties in order to get that great flavor. I also know for a fact that Jim's is switching fries from their thin, sometimes cold to a thicker better tasting fry that holds its heat better. So if you haven't been pleased with Jim's try them again but this time order a double meat and try their new improved fries (better yet get their great green chile cheese fires). Also for kids they have these great new Hot Rods that the Kid's Meals are served in!! Please continue to comment on your concerns on City Search because the owners do look at them. Pros: Very reasonable, Great Green Chile, New Fries more

Have Double Meat will travel! 7/21/2005

I been eating at Jims for 20 years at least. You gotta get the Double Meat with Cheese with everything if ya really want to compare burgers. Chase it with fries, and a Monster Shake or Malt, or possibly even a chocolate coke (straight from the ole days;). They have a TRIPLE Meat that I had once and my dog also loved it! ( It's so big you practicly have to have the kids help you get it to out to the truck!) If you can finish a Triple (don't forget the cheese:) the you are a eating madman! Another thing is it's pretty well priced and the family loves to eat there! (My wife likes the pork sandwich:) Pros: Awesome Food!, Great Prices!, Will fill you up! Cons: Not one Next Door!, Only 2 in the Metro, Noit 1 accross street more

I LOVE IT!!!! 5/30/2005

I love Jim's Burger Haven!!! They have the best burgers in all of Denver. It is very clean and all the food is fresh. If you want to try a different burger add ham to it!!! It gives it a much better taste then bacon. Their shakes and malts are just like the old days. And dont forget to try a vanilla coke!!! Pros: Big portions, Fresh more

Where's the beef? 5/17/2005

To quote a well known vintage tennis player in regard to their overall rating of 9.8: ""You can't be serious""!! Their burger reminded me of the old Wendy's commercial that asked, ""Where's the beef...?"" Pros: Cheap Cons: Dirty restroom more

A 9.9 rating? Seriously? 3/15/2005

The burger was OK. Lots of bun not much burger. The fries were terrible. My girlfriends sandwich, well, I warned her, it is a burger joint. If you folks that rated this the best in Denver really want to treat yourself sometime try the rest of the to 10. I think that you will be extremely happy. It is nostalgic, it is cheap, it is a 5. Pros: cheap, nostalgic Cons: fries, sandwich, ambiance more

I drive 40 miles just to eat there! 3/15/2005

There is also one in Thornton on 88th and Washington? YUMMY - the large cheeseburgers are THE BEST EVER more

Denver Landmark 2/6/2005

Jim's has ALWAYS been The Best deal in town for burgers and sodas! Grandpa always took the family for a ride on Sundays. On the way home, we had supper at Jim's. It's like the neighborhood burger joint from the 50's. Great (BIG) cheeseburgers and delicious shakes & malts (made with natural ingredients and real flavorings since the beginning ). Low Price, Fast & Friendly Service, Great Bargain, Delicious Food. What more could you of your ""Cheap Eats"" place??!! Pros: Nostalgic, Maintained Quality, Always Fun Cons: Close by 11 Fri&Sat more

Go Double! 9/26/2004

The Double Meat burger was great...you could taste the grill and the little things that make a hamburger great. The fries were terrible! There were other sandwiches on the menu that looked interesting (italian sausage with mozarella, etc). I kept hearing the staff say goodbye to people by names so there appeared to be a lot of regulars there. Pros: HAMBURGER, HAMBURGER more

The one on Sheridan is definitely better 6/25/2004

Both locations have delicious food obviously, and the same awesome prices, but I would definitely say the drive-thru at the Thornton location makes them slower, if anything. It's easier to just get out of your car and go inside, or just drive a few more miles to the Westminster location. The people there are much friendlier to me, and my time. When you go, definitely try the new green chili. YUMMY!!! Pros: VERY clean!, Good food for cheap, Good service more

Burgers 5/25/2004

The burgers arehe best! They come in all sizes with what you want for toppings. The price is right. The ambience is great. We also enjoy the huge hot dogs available. They have an assorted menu which, at times, one doesn't really know what to order! Pros: wonderful food, good parking, inexpensive Cons: , long wait for food more
