My son used to work at Jerry's as a 5/26/2012

My son used to work at Jerry's as a Busboy and Dishwasher. Mice in the drop ceiling, no food handling gloves worn by cooks, when the dish detergent would run out they would continue 'washing' dishes. Disgusting. I strongly suggest no one eats at this establishment. more

The best ribs! 8/7/2011

We tried Jerry's and was unbelievably pleased! It a Saturday night, so we made reservations just in case. We were immediately greeted by the most comfortable atmosphere! It reminded me of the restaurants and beer houses I visited in Germany last year. The beer selection is impressive and is a great starter. There was warm baked bread waiting for us at our table, and our server greeted us promptly. You can tell they work as a team, from the servers to the busers. The timing was perfect, from our apps to dinner. We never felt rushed or unwelcome. In fact, after dinner we walked over to their Little Beer House and our experience went from excellent to amazing! It's like stepping right into an actual German pub! There was outdoor seating and we also found out they serve food there as well! We left comfortably full and sleepy! It was a great dining experience and the food was delicious! more

a tradition 2/12/2011

We recently recieved an invitation to get $12 off dinner for our anniversary. We had used a free birthday meal two years ago.\r I could not resist reviewing and stating we will not use the discouint offer. Our experiance was OK at best. I must preface by stating I am not from this area. The service was bad, I mean bad. the staff was proud that were proud that they had worked there a long time. If you knew them you were given extra attention at the expense of other patrons. The homemade bread they are proud of was tasteless and the sald was wilted and brown on the edges, salad dressing tasted like it came out of a bottle. The ribs were covered with a sweet BBQ sauce. I prefer a dry rub or a thin coat of spicy not sweet sauce, I was not askled or explained the ""Olde Town"" sauce was how it would be served. The prices were not cheap! For the price I will not return even with the discount they sent me. Again I am not from this area, I am used to more traditional, simple, yet gourmet prepared meals.. If you go spend time in the bar and get drunk first, everyone has a great time in there and if you are drunk the food seems much better more

Best ribs 2/9/2011

I was sent a birthday coupon in mail. I usually dont use coupons at restaurants but brought my family and was pleseantly surprised! Everything we ordered was fantastic! Service was great, food unbelievalble, and had a wonderful time for my birthday with my family. more

This place went DOWNHILL 5/23/2010

The appetizer platter was supposed to have stuffed mushrooms in it, however it had tiny breaded button mushrooms. The bread we were served was burnt, and had NO FLAVOR whatsoever. It tasted like flour! My ""premium"" french fries tasted like they were reheated in the microwave. Another diner ordered a steak and it was all fat and again had to flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were cold. Dont waste your money on this place you will leave hungry! Pros: french onion soup was edible Cons: food quality, serving sizes, price more

Went for the famous ribs 12/14/2009

As other's have stated the French onion soup is very good. Thankfully, we didn't have any problems with service, or the birthday coupon, which others have complained about so I feel lucky in that sense. I was very excited to finally try these ribs. My excitement quickly changed to disappointment after the first bite. They cook these ribs by either boiling them or in a pressure cooker. My guess is pressure cooker. There was no flavor at all. Certainly no flavor of smoke. The meat did fall off the bone, I wont argue that, but there should be some chew to ribs, these had none. I could have gummed these ribs just fine. If you like your rib meat soft and flavorless, then this place is for you. As for myself, I'll stick to ribs that are smoked properly. Pros: French Onion Soup Cons: Ribs more

Poor Service Continues 5/19/2009

Called at 7:30 pm on 5-16-09 (Saturday) for reservations that evening. Informed that earliest seating would be 8:15 pm. Accepted the time and arrived around 8:20 pm, waiting 20 minutes to be seated. Ridiculous!!!! What is the point of a reservation? Especially made 45 minutes before planned arrival? Meal service was painfully slow. Otherwise satisfying meal ruined by the 1 hr 20 minutes taken to complete the process for just the two of us. It took the waitress 10 minutes just to get our bill at the meal's conclusion. Didn't leave the restaurant until 10:10 pm. No wonder my wife and I are receiving ""repeat customer"" dining certificates from Jerry's at a frequency higher than we generally care to eat out. No doubt a response to a regular customer base that is rapidly dwindling owed to worsening service. We started patronizing Jerry's several years ago, roughly 2 to 3 times per year. Their poor service is a relatively new wrinkle in what was an otherwise reliable dining establishment. Pros: Very Good Food Cons: Reservations and Meal Service more

Very poor service 3/8/2009

This was my first trip to Jerry's Old Town. It was a disappointment. I don't understand what all the fuss is about. We had reservations and still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. The dining room was terribly noisy. We waited fifteen minutes for the waitress to greet us. She asked if we'd like anything to drink and we told her we were ready to place our order! We still didn't have any water. The water arrived, and my glass had lipstick on it. When the food finally arrived, my husband asked for a soda. Half way through his meal, he asked the server where his soda was...she forgot about it. The food was good. We had the onion rings, ribs, french onion soup and baked potato. Everything tasted good. The best tasting part of my meal was the bread. Overall, the service sucked!!!!!!!!!! We won't bother going back to Jerry's Old Town. Cons: Noisy, overpriced, poor service, reservations or not - you'll have to wait to be seated more

Excellent Food, not-so-excellent customer retention skills 2/21/2009

The food is, without a doubt, excellent. I have eaten there many times. The waitstaff service is also excellent. The problem is with the management/owner. We were there a week ago, and there was an incident that was handled rather badly by their staff. It made for an uncomfortable atmosphere and much embarrassment on our part. \r \r I called the next day and left a message for the manager/owner as well as used their website contact form to describe what happened. I have not, to the best of my knowledge, received any sort of a response or acknowledgment of any kind. I am very disappointed in their lack of customer service. I expected more from a higher-end restaurant. I can honestly say that McDonalds has given me better customer service in the complaint department than Jerry's Old Town management has.\r \r I should note that I made it clear in my email to them that I was not expecting any sort of compensation. I asked only for a response from them like I would expect from any other company. Their silence has shown me that they do not value me, or any of the people who were with me (some who had never been there before), as a customer. more

A Very Nice Dining Experience 11/13/2008

We just got back from eating at Jerry's Old Town Inn. We had reservations for 5:30 PM, but really didn't need them (because of the time). It was a very nice experience. On Thursdays, they have an all you care to eat BBQ Ribs. You go to this place for the Ribs and French Onion Soup. Both are very good. The service? Excellent. The waitress stopped by often and filled my water glass and my wife's coffee cup. The Food? Came out at the expected speed and was nice and hot. We were asked if we wanted additional ribs at the appropriate time.\r \r Overall an excellent time. I'm sorry that the other folks had problems, but we had absolutely none. more

Great Ribs and French Onion Soup 10/2/2008

A hell hole to work in 8/30/2008

A close family member worked there and I was appalled to hear that kitchen workers are not given lunch breaks or any kind of break. They are expected to work on their feet in the super hot , disgusting, ant ridden kitchen for their entire shift of 6-8+ hours without the opportunity to eat. After my family member quit, Jerry's will not send him his pay. more

IF YOU WANT 7/18/2008

A group of only 5 just returned home from dinner and I guess we should have paid attention to the many people who told us to NOT go to dinner at Jerry's. We have ate at Jerry's a number of time and sure we have had to wait. Good food takes time--- occasionally. But, come on 1 1/2 hours!!! I asked to speak to the ""manager"" and all that came to the table after 15 minutes was a very rude ^%*$% that would not even listen to us as we tried to tell her how one of our meals was not cooked all the way. This has to be one of the WORST dining experiences any of us have every had. To top it off, the ""manager"" was the owner's daughter. When we asked a different waitress from another table if a female we pointed out was the owner, she replied that it was, but good luck getting her to talk to you was the response from her. It seems that the owner and the daughter must have gotten their heads together before coming to our table. FYI... from my chair had a clear view of the door to the kitchen and the hall to the bar. And to top it all off we stopped to ask a group of 4 outside how their dinner was and guess what... they had just as bad experience but we not as outspoken as we were. As much as we ""used to like"" Jerry's, we will not be returning. I have to say the previous owners would not have allowed what happened tonight to take place. This is the first time that I have had an experience this bad that I felt like I had to make my opinion known to unsuspecting patrons. Pros: DECENT FOOD Cons: PRESENT OWNERS/MANAGEMENT more

Best ribs, steaks, service 4/11/2008

I Don't know where the 2 boneheads that just reviewed Jerry's came from or if they ever get out much but I dine at many high end restaurants and Jerrys, by far, has the best ribs ever. Yes, it is a busy place, but would you rather be at a restaurant that is busy or with no one at all? Go to George Webb's if you want it quiet. The service, food, drinks are always excellent. If you love the old owner so much, go marry him. Pros: service, food, drinks Cons: none!!!!!!!!!!! more
