Still A Horrible Office in 2011 7/29/2011

If I could write a negative star rating I would. Since allot of the reviews are a few years ago I just wanted to say that they are still true in 2011! I agree with all of the other reviewers in terms of wait time, office staff and care of the team. The PA was very good and finally diagnosed my chronic asthma after 3 months of so called test and medications from Dr. Hopper. I did leave the practice because I got so fed up with the treatment I received. I was also told that I was ""dismissed"" before I chose to leave!!! Seems like they dismiss patients who dare to question their rudeness and qualifications! No wonder she was FIRED from her previous practice with Dr. Harris in Rocklin. more

STAY AWAY! 11/16/2010

this is by far the worst doctor I have ever encountered. I have read all the reviews and for the man that defended her as a doctor, you obviously have never been a patient. Jennifer Hopper who? You will NEVER see her. Her staff is rude and could care less about anything more than the gossip they have behind the counter. You will be seen, (after sitting in the waiting room for 45 minutes to an hour) given a prescription and sent on your way. They will not tell you what is really wrong with you, they do not even know! You will be seen and the entire visit they go through a series of questions on a laptop and vuala! You have been diagnosed. I was given a prescription that is not one that can be quit overnight. You have to take a different medication in order to stop use of the previous one. I have been trying to get it refilled for 5 weeks now! My pharmacy has faxed over requests, I have left messages with the ANSWERING SERVICE, and never received anything. I FINALLY got through and the staff told me that it was refilled 10/15/10 and to get it filled again I have to come in. Really?! I told her that the pharmacy never received anything because I have been in there so often checking that they now know me by name! She said nothing more than ""I can make an appointment for you in about 2 weeks' 2 weeks? Needless to say, I will be finding a new doctor today. This is a joke. I would never refer anyone to this office. Very unprofessional. I would not even give this the one star that I had to in order to publish the review. more

Wait time for Dr. Hopper was absurd. 12/9/2009

On 2 appts with Dr. Hopper I had waits of 1:15 and 1:30 after my scheduled time. For the appt where she was an hour and a half late a finally told them I had to reschedule. Office staff seemed to act like this was common and they were trying to get Dr. Hopper to be better at this. I'm afraid to say that this seemingly lack of respect for the patients time is hard to get by and taints my ability to judge the other areas of Dr. Hoppers skills. I switched to Dr. Hopper on a recommendation as I wasn't the biggest fan of my previous PCP, but I will go back to him in a second after my experience with Hopper. Pros: Seems concerned, willing to help Cons: Wait time on multiple occaisons more

Not terribly crazy 11/4/2009

I have only been once to this office and I waited for over an hour and a half to be seen. The total time was almost 2 hours. Dr. Hopper is super nice and thorough and very personable. She seemed to listen to what I had to say and the PA was good at explaining how their processes work. I have however been trying to get a prescription for 3 days now and no luck. I will try again and give them the benefit of the doubt. I am new to the area and it's been an absolute nightmare finding a great doctor in this area. Cons: Long wait times, hard to get prescriptions filled more

Pity the poor patient who trusts this Dr. 10/8/2009

I've been a patient with Dr. Hopper for a few years. She throws drugs and expensive procedures at you. I told her I smoked ONE cigarrette a day & was thinking about pills I had heard of to stop- without question Dr. Hopper prescribed me a $300 Rx for Chantrix. Which, she never even mentioned, carried with it INTENSE side effects of suicide, depression, anxiety- especially if you are prone to those sort of things. Which I am. Not that she even asked! Thank God I looked up the drug myself. Also sent me out to expensive and painful internal ultrasounds because of irregular periods, without having me chart my cycles, asking about my eating habits, etc.... Also the front desk staff is so completely rude, when awaiting the results to a pregnancy test I called back when THEY told me they would be ready, only to encounter complete attitude. As if finding out if I am going to be a mother is soooo annoying to them! The only competent person is Pam Rosenthal the R.N. more

Doctors are human too 9/16/2009

I have been in the health care indusrty for 13 years and have been through and seen many doctors and patients. There is no perfect doctor nor is there a perfect patient. Doctors do make mistakes and so do paients. Unfortunately, most patients feel that they are the 'only' patient and should be put before anyone else. Doctors run behind, get over it. When we make mistakes, health care professionals, we are stomped upon, yelled at and threatened. Why is this ok??? Dr. Hopper does run behind but she is an excellent physician and cares deeply for her patients. If you do not fit well with your doctor, then go to another one. There is no need to act like a 2 year old if you don't get your way! Slamming the door when a patient leaves because of a simple mistake that has been corrected is disgusting and rude! Pros: caring, takes time with patients, friendly staff Cons: wait time (as with anywhere else) more

Terrible, terrible doctor - Stay AWAY! 1/6/2009

By far one of the worst doctors we've ever dealt with.\r \r Not open to hearing what the issue was. Prescribed an antibiotic without really understanding what the problem was.\r \r Then, on the day of our appointment we call to confirm. The appointment was booked roughly two weeks prior. Front staff tells us we don't have an appointment because Dr. Hopper has ""released"" this patient. Says we got a letter stating so. Never received a letter. When asked why the patient was released, they simply reply ""It's time for you to find a new doctor.""\r \r What kind of doctor turns away patients and lies about how they did it? Or won't give an explanation for why? Maybe Dr. Hopper went into the wrong field. Compassion? Loyalty? I think not. Guess the reviews on all the other sites are true - this doctor is terrible! And the front office staff is no sweet tomatoe! Pros: Still trying to find some Cons: Everything! more

Good Office 5/19/2008

My entire family are patients for this office. We have always been treated with respect, care and kindness. Is the office perfect? Maybe not, but from Dr. Hopper to the two PA's they all care and are concerned with thier patients well being. Like any office where there is only one doctor, it's more common to get in to see the PA's. \r I would recomend the office to anyone in need of a Primary care. Pros: Dr. Hopper and the PA's Cons: Sometimes have to wait. more

A very caring doctor 5/12/2008

I have been going to Dr Hopper for 3 years now, ironically at the recommendation of a very respectful, reputable, well-liked Dr. who happened to be leaving the area and referred me to her. I have been there several times and have never experienced any of the extreme experiences that these poor people claim to have suffered under the hands of her and her staff! I have been given great service and staff always professional . You have to wonder why all these other emails seem to come from the same anger tone, bitterness and extremism. Smelling something fishy here.... No independent business could survive for very long if they behaved the way these ""similiar' sounding emails imply. Again, Dr. Hopper is nothing short of a very caring doctor and her staff are also professional and courteous. more

Rare Dr. Hopper Sightings - AVOID THIS SO-CALLED FAMILY PRACTICE DOCTOR 3/17/2008

I wish everyone would see this, especially Dr. Hopper. The big joke in my family is the elusive Dr .Hopper and when we actually see her. Oh, yes, there have been Hopper sightings, but one was in the parking lot and the other was at the mall! I saw her at my initial ""get to know me"" visit because I insisted on her seeing me. She seemed irritated that I wasn't there for a specific reason, only for a complete check up. The other time is after an emergency room visit. The staff didn't seem concerned that I just came out of ER and tried to schedule me two weeks out. I was furious and continued to call until Hopper would see me. Honestly, the PAs take better care of you. But, even with that, you never get the same PA. There isn't a person in that office that knows me and knows I'm one of their patients. \r \r The office staff is the absolute worse there is. As with the other reviewers, they are rude, uncaring, and have no people/customer service skills what so ever. You can't get through on the telephone most of the time. When you do, they can't get you an appointment within a reasonable time and certainly make no effort to work with you.\r \r This is, by far, the worse doctor's office ever. Again, I wish Dr Hopper would take note and make some serious changes or just get out of this field. It's a shame she holds a title of family practice doctor. Cons: Office Staff, Never-Seen Doctor, Wait Time, Appointment Setting, EVERYTHING! more

Avoid this practice 1/21/2008

This physician cancels multiple appointments, and leaves the staff to lie for her. I have had to sit in the office for 2 hours and was told she had a lot of emergency patients in the office - when she was not even in the building! Horrible staff - surly and argumentative. I would advise you to find another Doctor - avoid this practice at all costs! more

TERRIBLE! 11/14/2007

Wow. I thought it was just me, but these other two reviewers are dead right about this doctor. I too have never seen the actual Dr. Hopper, only the PA. For my first visit, I had to fill out the requisite forms and wait forever, just to be seen by a PA who wouldn't look up from her computer for three seconds to talk to me as she re-asked me the thousand questions I had just answered on paper. The office staff is DREADFUL. They have left me on hold for 10-15 minutes, but just like the other reviewer, when I was exactly 10 minutes late to an appointment, I was refused service. The office will be closed on random, middle of the week non-holidays. Also, when I called them with a prescription request on a Wednesday, it was not faxed over to my pharmacy until the next Monday. Needless to say, I am switching doctors. Please, save yourself the hassle, don't go here, ever. Cons: Office staff is terrible, unreliable service more

Worst Experience 3/28/2007

I have never been treated so poorly. The front staff are extremely rude and expect you to wait for hours then tell you that the doctor can no longer see you and that you have to come back and wait again for hours....eventhough you made an appointment more than a month earlier. The doctor was blew off my complaints and blamed the wait on an influx of new patients. The problem with that is I am a new patient and they accepted me!! Maybe they shouldn't be accepting new patients if they can't meet their needs. I was very disappointed and felt disrespected. I will NEVER go back. Pros: Honestly, none. Cons: Rude staff, old office, extremely long wait times, insincere doctor more

they are the worst never return calls for rxs , results , keep looking 2/5/2007

this is the worst family dr I ever went to I am looking for a new one. You never get return calls they never call back your pharmacy or your therapy . They will be your insurance excessively. They will reshedule you if you a few minutes late but make you wait forever in the waiting room and then again in the exam room. AVOID AT ALL COST. Oh and I have never seen the actual dr only the PA more
