Honestly the worst DJ I have ever encountered. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding April 2011 and Jay Samborn was hired to be the DJ. The guy was a joke. He forgot to bring long cords for the microphone so during speeches the best man and maid of honor had to stand far from the head table to give share their words. During the speeches the microphone levels were too hot and feedback started coming through the speakers. The speeches were interrupted numerous times before the DJ finally decided it was better to turn the mics off because he could not figure out how to fix the issue. This resulted in yelling out the speeches which took away from the sentimental atmosphere.
The bride's one request was to have karaoke at the wedding because it is a favorite activity that she shares with her family and friends. The DJ did not have any monitors for karaoke words, he just had his computer, so everyone had to stand behind his small table and it seemed really odd. He also had a poor selection of songs that did not have many popular hits that just about every bar in the area would have had on karaoke night.
The DJ was also a quiet personality. He did not talk much and did not hype up the crowd. When the dancing finally started to pick up around 11pm he decided he was going to pack up and leave at 11:30 although the bride told me she paid him to be there until 12am.
Overall this DJ hired through Jay Samborn was unprepared and amateur at best. I would never recommend this company to anyone for any reason. It would be better to just turn on your itunes yourself.
