Cannot handle food allergies! CANNOT HANDLE FOOD ALLERGIES. Took my family of six for dinner here, three of whom have gluten allergies. Disaster. Neither waitress and manager had no idea what gluten was. Three of our orders ended up having wheat-items on there, even though we expressly explained what we needed (simple substitutes like a baked potato instead of the rice pilaf, for example, both of which were offered as sides.) When she brought out swordfish lying on pilaf anyway and we explained yet again, the swordfish that had been lying on the pilaf was on a new plate but was still covered in pilaf. When we explained - AGAIN - that my sister is severely allergic to wheat, she said, ""Whatever. I did my part."" At that point, we asked to speak to the manager, who never showed up to talk to us, apologize, or offer to help, even though we waited and waited and waited. Unbelievable. Food allergies are not a fad; they are not a choice; they are not about diners being fussy. They're serious issues, and people who have them should to go to restaurants that take them seriously. Jackie's Too is clearly not one of those places.
