What happened to valueing the client? 3/3/2008

I was initially pleased with the service there. I was a loyal client for several months. From time to time my stylist would be running late & would ask me if I could accommodate her schedule & come back later. I always was gracious & obliged. Then, one day I called & said I was running late 15 minutes & if it was still ok to come in. The receptionist said no problem...when I get there however the story changed & was told to reschedule for another day. So much for good communication & fairness. I am looking for another salon that truly values their clients. Pros: great location & ambience Cons: for what you pay for service, they stink at customer service & valuing a client more

Would be afraid to go anywhere else... 11/3/2007

I get my hair done regularly by Josh at Hush Hush. He is the only person who has ever ""gotten it"" when it comes to my hair and that's a big deal considering how very particular I am about my cut and color. I always leave with an amazing haircut (he's extremely talented and creative) as well as my color looking better than ever. And the way he blowdries...I only wish I could duplicate it at home! Not only is he extremely personable, funny, and truly caring to someone who's been through a lot of bad hair experiences, he understands hair quite well through every step of the process from formulating a fitting vision of the right cut and color to the appropriate products. I could not possibly go to anyone else. Pros: Great stylists, friendly and accomodating staff, nice ambience. Cons: metered parking...but hey, it's Manhattan Beach, what do you expect? more

Harmony at Hush Hair Salon 10/30/2007

Hush hair salon ia amazing! I go to Harmony and love her work. Her coloring is amazing! Also I recently just got my hair cut really short and I love it. My family and freinds can't stop raving about it.She can do any haircut you want and make it look great! If you need a good hair place for anything color, cut , or do go see Harmony! more

Terrible!!!!!!!!! 10/17/2007

I actaually believed all the hype I read here and now agree with 1 review...you guys must be PR.....because not only is my haircut a disaster my color looks TERRIBLE. This is after giving the benefit of doubt and trying the salon a second time and going to two different people. Not a talented bunch. They are all cute but it ends there!! Sorry ..... but dont believe the hype. Ill make the drive to Beverly Hills thankyou. more

BEST SALON IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 6/12/2007

Ric has been doing my hair for over 10 years. He is an amazing colorist and his cuts grow out so gracefully. I have personally witnessed some of the miracles he has performed on patrons. I always love my color & cut, you won't find anyone better. The atmosphere is great, you can even see the ocean in the mirror while getting your hair done. Everyone at Hush Hush is professional, friendly & helpful. While Ric was out due to surgery Melissa G did my hair and did an awesome job. This is a great salon!!! Pros: Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff Cons: Even the metered parking isn't that bad, they will feed your meter for you. more

AMAZING COLOR! NEVER HAVE I HAD BETTER! 6/9/2007

New to the area I heard great things about this salon. The day I called and made an appointment I was't particular about who I went to, so the receptionist gave me to a stylist named Lindsey. When I got to the salon not only was I impressed by the salon itself but Lindsey was amazing. I am a blonde,and have been for my whole life, but never has any stylist achieved the amazing color Lindsey did. She was great! After the service I found out blondes were her specialty, apparently! So I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Lindsey for any blondes who want amazing natural beautiful highlights/color! I am sure she is great with every color though, she was sweet and funny, and I myself have found a stylist I will return to, and I am a very satisfied customer of Hush Hush Salon. Lisa is increadable 5/27/2007

As a former hairdresser I am very, very perticular about getting my hair done and can honestly say that Lisa is the most talented stylist I have ever worked with. Her technical cutting and coloring skills are amazing and so is her creativity. I spent years working in a salon and am hard to impress. Go see Lisa - she's the real deal. For her talent, she should be charging double what she does. Pros: Lisa Cons: parking - but it's Manhattan.... more

I love-love getting my hair curled and styled by Harmony! 4/27/2007

Harmony has been cutting and coloring my hair for over two years...she is fantastic! The best part is the curls...when Harmony curls your hair she uses a curling iron to creating cascading curls all over... I have become completly addicted! You will definetly feel like a Charlie's Angel! All my girlfriends love the curls...they go with everything! Is fun to feel completely girly...plus they give you volume...is something every girl should experience! Pros: Stellar location at the beach, near great boutiques. Cons: None. more

I have been going to Harmony for years to get my Hair done and have never had a bad experience. She Cuts and Colors my Hair exactly the way i want it Everytime. I am Always 100% satisfied. I am so excited to have all my hair salon expectations met when I go to Harmony of Hush Hush Salon!! And you will too, she is the most wonderful hair colorist and stylist, I know you will not be dissapointed. I have very fine hair and have abused my hair with years of frequent coloring, etc, thanks to her expertise, and knowledge in their fine Kerastase line, my hair seems to have a new healthy, vibrant bounce, a promise of future fullness, and is the exact natural blonde tones with sweet highlights I had desired and dreamed about acheiving. I have seen many of her clients outcomes, this very beautiful and talented hair dresser puts her heart and soul into bringing out the ""totally gorgeous"" in every one. She has beautiful top fashion models and whole professional dance teams that are her devoted clients, their careers depend on their flawless appearances and ""I want my hair just like hers"" fans. Pros: Harmony is awesome! The salon and talented team of stylists will not dissapoint you!! Cons: cannot think of a one! more

I've followed Ric for over 10 years 9/12/2006

I met Ric at Carlton in Marina del Rey, followed him to Santa Monica, then to Manhattan Beach and ultimately to the two salons he now owns-- that's probably over 10 years now. Even though he's busier than ever, he does such a great job of cutting my hair I try to schedule my appointments a month in advance. All I ever have done is just a cut, and I don't even want him to use a hair dryier, just a cut. Pros: Great Ambiance, Great people, great service Cons: Ric's too busy! more

IMPRESSED 6/1/2006

I use to think that I had to go to Beverly Hills or a high-end West-side salon to get a great cut and color/highlights; but then I often found myself paying extremely high prices and not always satisfied - not to mention having to spend hours at the salon. I then found Ric at Hush (Hush Hush) and have been going to him ever since (over 2 years). Not only do I pay less, but Ric is the best colorist I have been to, does a great job at cutting my hair and I don't have to spend hours at the salon. I have also referred many friends and they also RAVE about Hush and Hush Hush. To top everything off, the atmosphere is great - friendly staff and a very sleek, contemporary decor at the beach. Shana is the best colorist & hair cutter 5/14/2006

Shana is great at coloring and cutting hair!!! If you want to get highlights but dont want to look like you have them or dont want it to be high maintenance - she does it perfect. Great Experience 5/13/2006

I saw Jenine to get my grey covered. I am usually nervous about seeing new people because my hair is thin and relaxed. Jenine put me at ease right away. She used the perfect color and the grey completely covered. My hair felt more healthy and shiny then usual. I could not be more pleased and I will definitely be going back. more

First Time Getting The Grey Out 5/11/2006

I went to the salon and saw Janine who I had heard about through a friend. I was nervous that my hair was going to look ""dyed"" because I am a guy and it was important to me that it look natural. Janine covered my grey and now it looks like my real haircolor. She also recommended putting some highlights on the top, which look great. I love what she did, and I would recommend her to everyone. I have followed Amanda Gripp from two Beverly Hills salons and now to this charming, modern spot one block from the ocean in Manhattan Beach. Stylish Wave 4/23/2006

I have always frequented salons in Beverly Hills or Santa Monica. Now that I have discovered Hush, Hush in Manhattan Beach, my days of traveling to get a great cut and color are over. Ric and his staff deliver the BH experience with the polite sincerity that can only be found in a beach town. The salon is beautiful and now, so is my hair-- Thanks!!   • Ric had a vision and it became Hush Salon. Located in the charming downtown area of Manhattan Beach, Hush introduced the South Bay to the lavish, Paris-based product line, Kerastase. Seven years and seven stations in, this lofty SoHo-style studio of hair-art was booming. An opportunity to expand presented itself just a couple blocks away and Ric jumped. Not to mention he was itching to design once again. Much like that client who sits in your chair, throws her hands up and says, I trust you, do whatever you want, this new salon was a blank canvas and Ric was the artist, anxious to create. Hush Hush was going to double the space of its sister salon, so the name came easy- just say it twice! The look was much different too, very contemporary and beachy-chic.
