This place is great! I thought it looked a little out dated when I arrived, however the service was excellent and the cuisine is authentic. The server was very helpful. I wanted peking duck but it said on the menu that had to be order 24 hours in advance, but there was something else on the menu with duck in it and she had the cook prepare it similar to peking duck. I got my check and the prices are very reasonable, for great quality! I will be telling many friends about this place. Pros: the duck is great! more

Great reasonably prices wide selection of chinese and mandarin cuisines - even duck & lamb! 10/15/2008

The food is almost always spot on excellet. I have been going to this restaurant for almost 20 years now and can tell you anything you want to know. To sum up, I have had issues with new servers occasionally (maybe 3 times at most that I can even remember - over 20 years). Now, to me that is a superior record that can almost never be beat. My main recommendation for people looking at this for a regular dining spot is to get to know your server (I know mine :) and try a variety of dishes. I have found that if I like the the way ingredients, sauce, etc sound on the menu, I am always always pleased with my meal. Pros: All Pros Cons: No Cons more

from the create your own eggrolls to the spicy chicken everything is wonderful. The staff is sweet and so courteous. We hardly ever wait to be seated or to get our entrees. I love this place and its perfect for dates, family, and kids that enjoy the food. I have ordered take out many times without any mistakes! Kudos to them. Pros: great food at a great price more

Good Chinese food available in the Lou. 6/10/2004

The number of dishes was really quite astounding. I tried the Chicken with Orange flavor and it turned out to exceed my expectations considerably. The chicken is actually chicken, and not meat nuggets. The sauce was extremely tasty and the waiter was very pleasant and friendly. I'll definitely need to go again and try a few more dishes. i grew up a few blocks down the road from this place. ever since i was too young to remember, to this day (i'm 25), hunan & peking has been my family's favorite restaurant in st. louis, even though we've all moved away. :( the family that runs the place is super friendly, the food is delicious, and the service and atmosphere are above and beyond what you would expect from a typical chinese restaurant. also, there is a huge selection of menu items to choose from! enjoy!
