Howell Dry Cleaners

I have done business with Howell Cleaners for years and couldn't disagree with the other reviews more. They are always pleasant and friendly. They knock themselves out to do a complete and professional job. I have never received a piece of clothing that wasn't impeccably done. They have also worked hard to do many favors for the residents of Berkeley Square. I would never go anywhere else! more

I had called around and did a Google search for a dry cleaner because Capitol was out of business in Hamilton. So I found this place and decided to call and see how long it would take for a dry cleaning to be done( I had never gone to a dry cleaner ) on 2 pair of dress slacks. I was in need of them for Easter which was 3 days away. The young man I happened to speak with stated the price and that it would take 1 day. I decided to use this business because it was close to home and convenient. The parking arrangements are ridiculous and you can't get out with the traffic. When you walk in you feel like there's going to get bed bugs from using their unclean building. I looked past all of this..thinking...everybody deserves a chance. Especially the ""small guy"". I walk in to drop off the slacks and the lady at the front desk was very polite and greeting when I walked through the front door. She seemed very friendly. She filled out the paperwork and said when do you plan on picking them up and I said asap; Maybe sometime tomorrow. She said how's Tuesday sound? And I said OH. thats not going to work. I needed these pants by Easter. She ripped the order and threw it away immediately. And said OH. well were finished and pushed my clothes towards me and started speaking with the man behind me. I ususally dont write reports, good or bad, on anybody. But this place is just ridiculous. Now I have to find another dry cleaner last minute. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYBODY!!!!! more

I was very displeased with the service that I recieved. The customer service was absolutely a joke. I took in a coat and a wedding dress to be cleaned. As anyone would do I was pricing around for a best price to clean a wedding dress. So when I dropped off the dress I ask the young man working how much the dress would be, he said about $30- BC I told him I just wanted it cleaned not the whole wedding package that some places offer. So I thought that was great, so I left it there. He told me it would be done Thursday. So when I went to get it Thurs. He goes,""it's a bit more than I told you, its $125, not $30"" -- I was not happy with that. I asked him why such a difference and he said bc there were a lot of stains. I was upset, I however did pay the outrageous difference, and left a note to have the person in charge give me a call. The next day I talked to Connie, She was absolutely one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with. She told me that when I heard that price of $30 I should ve questioned it. And just kept making excuses, the boy was new, and young. I expressed that one, someone should ve called me when they realized I was told the incorrect price to make sure that I still wanted them to do it. And to top it all they couldn't even remove the stain ( which I understand that some stains won't come out). She told me she would talk to the owner and get back with me.\r So then She calls me back and tells me that the owner is going to give me $30 back. so I am still paying $100 for a job I was told would be $30. I asked to talk to the owner- boy I thought Connie was rude, nothing compared to Cecile- She yelled at me, cussed at me, told me if I wanted she would give me all my money back and I could bring her the dress and she would throw it in the garbage or something. Also, tried to blame me for the issue of not having the correct price and not questioning it bc no cleaner would do it for that. and when I expressed that The customer service I was receiving was unacceptable, she told me ""Im in the drycleaning business, not customer service."" asked me if I was in customer service, when I responded with yes, she said, how about you stick to your job and I will stick to mine. -I was like ma'am you do a service for customers, customer service-- It was like arguing with a brick wall. And just the rudest, most unprofessional group I have ever dealt with. I will not go back, ever. more
