This is a great place for a quick getaway from the Bay Area on a budget. Dorms are small sized and comfortable and they also have quite a few rooms for both couples and families. They have kitchens that everyone can use, and the beach is right down below and great for tide pooling and exploring. Ano Nuevo State reserve with the seals are very close by, as is Santa Cruz and the tiny town of Pescadero.
Beware though, this part of Northern California seems to be always shrouded in fog, even in the summer. And the best thing- the hostel has a hot tub overlooking the ocean! It's great.
