Bardstown cancer care. The Flaget Cancer Center includes another first for this community: radiation oncology. This treatment is delivered through cutting-edge technology, the Elekta Synergy machine, a fully-digital linear accelerator. The Elekta Synergy has the ability to image DURING treatment, which targets a tumor more precisely, spares healthy tissue, and results in fewer side effects and greater comfort for patients.
The center features a calming setting, with natural colors and materials, and a waterfall feature in the front lobby. The center also includes 4,800 square feet of renovated space in the Medical Office Building for new, private chemotherapy rooms, intravenous therapy treatment for patients with diseases other than cancer, patient education areas, and other amenities including a cancer-resource library.
