The people here are so insensative and very unprofessional. I had my niece's graduation cake made here and paid $110 for the cake. After I picked the cake up, the icing started to melt and shifted, and started to break apart. I called the bakery and was advised to bring it in so that they could take a look at it. After taking it back in, they played with it some (making it worse) and then told me that it was nothing they could do. They would not even attempt to fix it or offer to make another one at a discounted price. They actually told me that all I could do is pay full price for another one, and that they were closing and locked the door. They were so nasty to me and I had just spent over $100 for a cake. I had pictures of the cake that I actually took in their store which clearly shows that it was already starting to melt. Please do not patronize these people, they don't care about their customers!!!! more

I request a strawberry cake every year for my birthday. It is my favorite hands down from anywhere. They use real strawberries, and it is not overly iced. Other cakes are good as well; I've had them all. They are so creative, and the decorator of my cake has always handed it to me in person. I like that it's personal, an extra touch. I can tell that they enjoy their work. Cookies are nice and chewy; they have that homemade taste. Pastries are predictable and on the bland side. The staff at Homestyle Bakery was very helpful and accommodating when I recently ordered a cake for my parent?s 50th wedding anniversary celebration. I live in Indianapolis and found out about Homestyle Bakery from the New Orleans Manor restaurant where the celebration was to take place. Ordering via phone was easy and they were very accommodating with my request for a double heart cake. I indicated the writing for the cake and colors and left the details to them. The cake was beautiful and very fresh having been baked and decorated the morning of the celebration. My dad, who is not a big sweet eater, even commented about how good it tasted. I needed 120 dozen cookies for some clients of mine! A friend of mine told me about the ""Best Kept Secret in Nashville,"" Home Style Bakery, she gave me their number (she actually had it on speed dial in her phone!) She had told me that she got her wedding cake, birthday cakes, graduation cakes and all of her holiday pies from Homestyle so she knew the cookies would be good. So I called and of course they could fill the order by my requested date! Not only did they surprise me with the ability to make 120 dozen cookies in short notice, but the cookies were amazing as well! I had to sample some myself of course! Nollie was the gentleman that waited on me and he was soooooo helpful! My fiance and I came in to order our wedding cake and all I have to say is ""Wow!"" The cakes tasted great and the pictures in their books were even better! I got a much better deal than other bakeries in town and they were a lot friendlier than others as well! I spoke with the cake decorator and we designed my cake together. She was very helpful and patient with me as we worker together to make my dream come true! I am sure that it will be the centerpiece at my wedding! She also came up with a great idea for favors, we are going to put our engagement picture on cookies and hand them out to our guest....how cute! I am looking forward to doing business with them in the future. To be honest I used to go to grocery stores for other cakes, but not anymore. I am a HOMESTYLE bakery girl now and I refer all of my friends there as well. If you want a good cake that will surely be the highlight of the party you must go to Homestyle Bakery! Twice in less than 3 days Homestyle bakery messed up. I attended two baby showers this past weekend and both showers ordered a cake from Homestyle bakery. Both times they decorated the cakes with the incorrect image. And the 2nd time they didn't even make the correct size cake requested. They offered to fix both images on the cake and said it would take around 20 minutes. I opted to let them fix the first cake but it took them almost 45 minutes to get it fixed and didn't look that great. Plus they just wiped the frosting off and refrosted making the cake taste way too sweet. The cake itself was good, but this was rediculous. I asked for picture 29 D, they made cake 29 B. Hmmm.....does someone need glasses? We just took the cake for the 2nd shower the way it was. But we were not happy. Not only that, they still charged full price. They said if we had taken the cake as the mistaken one, they would've offered a discount. However, they did not offer a discount for the one we took with the incorrect image. I will not go back, and this was my first experience. Really really disappointed. And I had heard such rave reviews, but this was two mistakes in less than 3 days. Sad. I got to say, every year, my wife orders me a cake for my birthday. I wont eat cake unless it comes from the Home Style Bakery. The staff has always been friendly. I also love the brownies, they melt in your mouth. The cupcakes are always decorated nicely, especially around the holidays. Order a cake from this Bakery, and youll never go wrong! Homestyle has the best cakes in town--hand's down. Great for last minute needs, they always have a large selection of beautiful cakes waiting in the display and if you have prepared ahead a couple days, you can custom design ANYTHING....and it always looks even better than you pictured. If you are ordering a full sheet cake, they have many different flavors to choose from. Anything smaller offers the basic flavors, but all are wonderful. Check out the cute, individual cakes for the holidays as well as the fabulous cookies! Pros: Wonderful cakes, pies, cookies...you name it. I highly recommend Home Style Bakery. I will stop there every once and a while for something sweet for my sweet and the staff are always friendly and nice. If you call in for a cake they are always very helpful and courteous even when you don't have any idea as to what you want. My husband has gotten me a basket there for Valentines day 2 years in a row and the basket they put together is phenomenal. I mean they have like 15 heart cookies on a stick, bags of different cookies, a picture frame, a teddy bear, a glass figurine with 2 hugging bears, chocolate candy hearts, and a candle. Love it!!!
