I well remember the field trip in school where we went out on buses to this cemetery. I found it a bit strange truthfully. But once we got there I was enthralled with the place....

I well remember the field trip in school where we went out on buses to this cemetery. I found it a bit strange truthfully. But once we got there I was enthralled with the place. It's literally seeping with history. I found it so cool (still do) that Chappo Geronimo is buried there. I did a rubbing of his marker. Do a little research before you go and you'll be amazed at who you discover is in Mobile. I was! more

You have to be into this! 7/20/2005

I know Cemetaries are morbid to some people. But this is Historic. We have over 1,100 confederate soldiers buried in this earth. Not only that , the men who died on the Mobile-built C.S.S. Hunley submarine back in 1864. This might not be interesting to a lot of people but if you are into history, You will find it amazing. It is of course free to go in and look around. Geronimo's son, Chappo Geronimo died of TB and it also buried here. All you have to do is look around to find something interesting. more
