Great Care 10/4/2012

Dr Long, was so nice. My jazmyn had to have a tooth pulled and I told him that I had a budget and he did not skimp on the service. He even moved things around on the bill to come in under budget. The bulding is clean and they really get you in and out.\r \r Will never go any where else. more

Great Dr! 10/22/2010

Dr Kobus Is the best Veterinarian I have ever worked with. She has a true gift with connecting with animals and their needs! I have and will continue to recommend Her in the future more

Quality care without padding the bills 8/17/2010

I have been a Hillcrest client for 15 years and have worked primarily with either Dr Long or Dr Wimmer--both of whom are superb surgeons that have done orthopedic surgery, spay/neuters, dental extractions, and c sections for me over the years. I am very pleased with their work as well as their follow up care post surgery.\r \r A few months ago, a friend came upon a min pin in the middle of the road that had been hit by a car and left to die on a Saturday morning. My friend scooped up the dog and took it to another clinic in town. The clinic did xrays and blood work to a total of $900 but said that no one could perform surgery until Wednesday of the following week, and the dog would need to be on IV fluids in the meantime--to a tune of yet another $500. This vet quoted the cost of surgery to be $1300.\r \r When I learned of this on Monday morning, I went with the friend to pick up the dog and immediately take it to Hillcrest. Dr Long immediately took the dog in for surgery to repair th more

Helpful, friendly, cares about pets. 6/2/2010

My cat recently got hyperthyroidism and has been feeling ill since. Dr. Kotev has been very helpful with trying to find her the right meds and foods to help her keep her strength up. We've had bloodwork drawn several times now and always get a phone call about it the morning the results come in. \r The receptionists at Hillcrest can be kind of mean, but don't worry, the vets, including Dr. Kotev are great. more

Great Veterinarians 3/13/2010

Have been taking my pets to Hillcrest for over\r 35 years. Have seen most of the Veterinarians at one time or another and have never been unhappy with the service. Yes, the clinic is walk in and at times you might have to wait but feel the Doctors give you there undivided attention once in the room. Receptionists were friendly and very busy. Don't know how they do it answering phones, waiting on customers, cleaning rooms, weighing dogs and such. So thankful Rockford has a walk in clinic with such caring\r people! more

Dr. Long 8/22/2009

Dr. Long is THE most compassionate and caring veterinarian I have ever come across. He is the one thing I have not been able to "replace" or find any near comparable replacement for since we moved to Florida. He took exceptional care of my labs during our years in Rockford. He is honest, patient, empathetic...he is our "superhero", and I miss him. It's never about money or padding the bill like most clinics do these days...he truly enjoys his work and it shows. Dr. Jallen is also excellent. Yes, you may face long waits as it is a walk-in clinic, but it is very much worth the wait. more

Dr. Jallen 7/14/2009

I took my dog there for 15 years. She was healthy for all but the last 3. She required close monitoring for Cushings disease and when it was time for us to let her go, Dr. Jallen (he managed her) was nothing but compassionate and kind. We had all the time we wanted with her and we felt comfortable leaving her when she was gone. There are times when I did wait a long time, but it is a walk-in clinic. Sometimes you have to wait. You can also request a specific vet, again, with the possibility of a wait. I cannot say enough about Dr. Jallen. Great vet. more

Botched surgery 7/3/2009

I have been going to Hillcrest for 20+ years but never had any emergencies or surgeries done on my animals. When my dog had emergency surgery there, in the middle of the treatment (she still had stitches) they refused to treat her any longer until I paid the balance. We had agreed earlier to monthly payments but now that the dog was having complications, which I later learned was from botched surgery, they wanted all the money upfront or no treatment. To refuse treatment to an ailing animal is inexcuseable!! I did take my dog to another animal hospital, they redid her surgery to correct the Hillcrest surgery and she is great--no thanks to Hillcrest. I will NEVER have an animal treated there again. I have told all the people that I have previously recommended to Hillcrest to stop taking their pets there if they love their animals. To no surprise, almost everyone I spoke with had ONLY bad things to say about the place. more

Very Poor 11/28/2008

I took my cats to Hillcrest Animal Hospital for annual exams. The office was disorganized, the girl at the front desk was rude, and it didn't stop there. We waited a long time in the exam room before the veterinarian came in and he was very short and rude. That was the first and last time kitties went to Hillcrest. more

not happy 4/16/2008

I to feel the vets do not care, or even the staff get you in and get you out. $$$ I had to put my dog down of cancer at 13 years old they should have had me pay before and not after I couldn't stop crying to write out the check. They didn't even give me time with him before I had to pay and go. Great Huh. more

Unhappy with this one 8/6/2007

Some of the vets do not show compassion when taking care of your pets. They do not take notes of the care that they give your pets. I heard after the death of our pet many others were unhappy also because they lost a pet do to the care of the vet. more
