Nice club, very inviting 1/26/2012

After a long frusration with the crowded and loud YMCA, I decided to try out the free 14 day pass at Health Quest Fitness. Much to my surprise, the experience was easy and no pressure what so ever to join. After the 14 days, I went back to the YMCA for a week and couln't stand it any more and joined Health Quest. It was easy - 0 enrollemnt fee for first time sign up and no long term contract, so I can leave whenever I wish. The club is very clean and never crowded. I started using a trainer and he is great. I have lost 12 pounds in 5 weeks. Overall, this healthclub has been a great experience. There is far less noise and no congestion. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the facility is clean and offers everything needed for me to enjoy working out. more

Best Fitness Center in Northwest Suburbs!!! 11/8/2011

This fitness center is like being at a beautiful, clean spa...I have to remind myself that I'm here to workout!! No lines to get on equipment, all cardio machines have their own televisions (w/cable channels : ) awesome steam room...like I said, just like an upscale spa. All of the staff are very freindly and they have great personal trainers who are so helpful. Give it a try and see for yourself, you wont be sorry that you did. My goal is to look as good as they all do.......LOL!! more

HEALTH QUEST FITNESS 11/2/2011

This gym unfortunately does not meet the cut. For being a small business you would expect common courtesy from the owner, especially in these tough economic times, where for many of us the gym is a luxury. Needless to say he is rude, arrogant, and seems more intent on developing his physique rather than that of his clients. He spends most of his time on the floor honing his skills, along with one of his employees( I believe she is the manager). The front desk staff changes as often as the trainers. I have never had the same trainer twice- that's pretty telling!! The final straw to his rudeness was when I mentioned to him that because of a family emergency I would not be able to use the gym for the next two months and if he could freeze my membership. Bear in mind that I had been a member for a while at this point.( I joined only because of proximity to work.) He informed me that I would have to rejoin and pay the membership registration fee again despite me explaining the situation to him, and then to my horror went right back to working on his routine again. That was the final straw. I have better institutions and more deserving people to give my money to. more

Very Fair 2/28/2009

This gym does the job! Thank goodness the price is just high enough to keep out the stupid college kids. It contains all the equipment needed to get you in great shape and is never too crowded. Fat and anoying people please stay at the park district gym or YMCA. Pros: Clean, Plenty of equipment, never need to wait for anything, no lazy fat people just walking around talking Cons: Not enough hot girls, Could use better music, Too many guys in locker rooms with no cloths but not as bad as park district or ymca more

best in the area 2/5/2009

I've been a member for nearly 5 years. The new ownership has been great- well maintained equipment, clean, very nice staff, and a good location.\r \r I had to laugh at the stories re. the ""free pass"". Club members are of all age groups. Loud, rude, and/or people not serious about getting a good workout wouldn't be welcome by the members- much less the management. If they were asked to leave because they acted like jerks with ""free coupons"" then it's best for all. Go to Bally's! Pros: clean, location, good assortment of equipment Cons: no whirlpool more

Great club 12/30/2008

Great club for a person seeking a non-intimidating environment. The membership base is well managed as there is never a wait for a equipment or showers. I like the mature atmosphere and the knowlegeable staff and Personal Trainers. I have been a member for over five years and have really enjoyed the club and all it offers. Pros: wide variety of fitness equipment, steam rooms, covered parking Cons: no swimming pool more

Reviews Below... Very One Sided! 12/29/2008

It's too bad these college kids didn't tell you how loud and verbally abusive they were initally. THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY! I have nothing but respect for the owner who is credited with being a world class athlete. I have never in my life seen a more dedicated and hard working person who's goal is to create a positive fitness experience for the health and benefit of others. He is top notch! The club is consistently pristine, state of the art and very professional. I have had a wonderful experience there and LOVE the mature atmosphere of respectful members as well as staff. The ladies behind the desk always welcome members and potential members in a kind and friendly way. The tours are always gracious and thorough. . Members should be THANKING the owner for sticking up for their professional atmosphere when these overtly rude kids came in with free passes. It is a private club... he was has every right to ask obnoxious boys to kindly leave the club for the atmosphere of dedicated paying members. Pros: Parking garage, close the Palatine train station, state of the art facility, spa like Cons: hard to find the location.... within a larger office building more

BAD EXPERIENCE 12/29/2008

I have had one of worst encounters with Health Quest and the owner. I have been searching for a new gym membership when I fell upon Health Quest or what I now consider the worst ran business I have ever experienced. When I first walked in the receptionist was extremely rude and aggressive about signing up for a long term membership. I continually expressed my interest in the gym but would like to look around more. She gave me a tour of the gym by standing behind her desk and pointing in the direction which she thought things were. Towards the end of the ""tour"" an older man, who I later found out was the owner, appoarched me and basically asked if I was going to sign up or not and if not I should hurry up and leave. He also was extremely aggresive and some people might even question if it was roid rage that influence his aggression. I honestly was extremely uncomfortable in Health Quest atomsphere. I would not recommend this facility to anyone unless you like a subpar gym with worst business owner running it. Pros: small and empty Cons: the owner is an idiot more

Extremely Rude/14 Day Free Pass is a Joke/ Facilities Comparable to an at home gym 12/29/2008

Some friends and I went to Health Quest Fitness today for the 14 day free membership which was sent out in the local Daily Herald. When we arrived the girl at the desk rudely asked us if we had been there before and if we were college students. We explained to her that yes we are technically college students, but that this is our last semester of college and we were living back at home and wanted to try out the gym. n the middle of our workout a shorter gentlemen in a leotard (the owner we found out later) told us that we were welcome to finish our workout but we were not welcome back after today. At first we thought it was a joke, but apparently not.We said that we would leave immediately. My friend was then bumped into by the older gentleman and told to grow up.The women behind the desk then started making fun of our appearance. The owner stated ?You don?t know who you?re messing with.? I tried to explain to him again the mistake that he had made, still he felt that we were wrong and shuffled us out. We asked to have our coupons back but were told that wasn?t possible. After walking out the door the owner followed us again and bumped into my friend. This was the worst treatment that I have ever received and I would not recommend this to anyone. The facilities are very small and frankly subpar. For a few hundred dollars you could put this gym in your basement. The staff/ owner obviously have no regard for their customers and believe in false advertising. I still can?t believe this happened and I don?t usually write these types of reviews, but I would really hope that some people will see this and decide to go somewhere else. The owner also stated ?I could care less about you guys, one customer won?t affect my business.? So much for customer care... Please don?t fall for the 14 day free membership scam to get you in the door, if you don?t want to sign up you?ll be persecuted. Save your time and money and avoid this joke of a legitimate business. Pros: Location, Parking Cons: Everythig else especially facilities and the staffs treatment of customers more
