After this semester ended, myself and two buddies decided to take a spontaneous trip up to Killington, and when I say spontaneous.. I mean SPONTANEOUS. We weren't prepared what so ever, but we figured we'll figure it out. The three of us squeezed into a BMW coupe (dumb decision) and headed for VT. On the way up we googled motels, and found the Happy Bear. When we got up there, Happy Bear was in the perfect location (right in the center of town, around bars, laundry mats, places to eat etc.) The first night we got about 4 inches, which made the drive up the mountain impossible in the beamer. However, Sam (the owner of the Happy Bear) was there, prepared to help us reach the mountain and shred that day. Don't let the name, of the fact that its a motel stop you, the Happy Bear is the place to be. more

Very nice, clean and quite place. It has excellent view. Very friendly staff. VERY reasonably priced for being in a prime location. The location is excellent with ski slopes very near by and eating place right across the street. I went there with my wife and 7 month old son. We stayed there for 4 days and had a great time. HIGHLY recommend this one. more

It was a great surprise to find out that not only the location was really great (walking distance to many restaurants, bars and nightlife and less than 3 min drive to the mountain) but also the motel was extremly clean,had plenty of hot water, a good breakfast in the morning (muffin, bagels, bread, coffee, juice, cereal etc) and two great people in charge. The couple that is responsible for the reception and management is very pleasant, helpful and kind. They gave us good sugestions for dinner and were always available to help (specially with tips on how to deal with the ice over the car).\r Would definitely go back anytime! more

I have cousins from New Jersey who like to come up to Killington and snowboard. It was a holiday weekend and the place they usually stay at was totally booked. They had the misfortune of staying here. The only positive aspect was they could just stagger to their rooms after having a few too many at the Pickle Barrel Nightclub across the street. The rooms were cramped and stale smelling. Toilets were noisy and constantly running. The motel staff can be summed up in one word: LAME. more
