Relive the 1800's at Hale Farm & Village 8/20/2005

My first encounter with Hale Farm & Village was when my daughters Civil War Reenactment were there. You can spend a whole day there just reliving the past. It is a living history museum depicting the mid-19th century life in the Western Reserve. You can ride the train through the park. You can view the crafts; watch people demonstrating glassblowing, pottery making, spinning, weaving and other trades. Watch a farmer work with his oxen. Visit the restored homes where people in costume talk about the mid-1800 life. more

  • The Year is 1848
Traveling back in time for a visit to Hale Farm & Village offers a superb recreation of a bygone era, in which knowledgeable actors and artisans in period costumes go about their chores as they chat with visitors. Learn intimate details of a way of life that's been gone for more than 150 years as you watch master blacksmiths, weavers, glassblowers, potters, and candlemakers. The authentic buildings and furnishing provide an entertaining window on the mid-19th century. Children are usually fascinated to see how their counterparts lived, played, and worked long ago.

Did They Have Snacks Back Then?
Don't forget to pick up some homemade treats for the ride home.
