Love it most for my laziness 10/31/2009

While I like the options like getting fresh chicken and hormone free beef, what I love most about Whole Foods is picking up a quick meal that's more healthy than what I'd typically get elsewhere. Not always hitting this location but checkout is typically easy and staff has been friendly. I like that when done with a rough day at work. Pros: Good Eats Cons: More costly than bargain grocery stores more

Definitely not as healthy as they want you to believe! 11/13/2007

Read the labels. They cook with canola oil and sugar cane juice which is just as unhealthy as sugar. The prices are unreal and not worth it. If you shop here, only come for specialty items as you're really not getting "very healthy" food. Wild Oats is much healthier and the service is better. more

An alchemist of the highest order! 7/7/2007

I thought I loved Aveda until I met Gwen. At some point Aveda's quality dropped and when I met Gwen she created extracts custom tailored to me. I came in with a thrashed head of hair and she restored it back to the softness and the innocence of your hair when you were a baby. We've done so much damage to our hair over time and she brings it back to life. You can grow your hair with her because she takes amazing deep care of your hair and scalp. If you ask her a question and she doesn't answer - it is because she is analyzing your head and is deeply involved in planning your customized treatment. Pros: Super talented Cons: None at all! more

Great selection of fresh take-out foods 6/6/2002

This is my version of "fast food." Whole Foods stocks their to-go section with mostly delicious and fresh foods. I say "mostly" because some of the items really are hit-or-miss. The most common problem is the lack of seasoning -- but if you've got a stash at home, this can easily be fixed. So, to avoid disappointment at less than grand meals, I rely on four favorite staples for a quick meal, all available in the deli, cheese and bread aisle: tuna salad, edamame salad, baby swiss cheese and pita bread. This is the perfect combination -- and best of all, all offerings are always available. So, next time you're on the verge of slipping into fast food grease, swing by Whole Foods instead. If nothing else, this location is a great spot for people-watching. Pros: Great tuna salad, Tons of to-go choices Cons: Hit-or-miss more

  • In Short
Whole Foods is a vegetarian's dream grocery store, with a focus on natural and organic goods and a gargantuan selection of fruits, vegetables and vegan products. But carnivores won't feel neglected, as stores also boast a vast selection of top-quality meats, poultry and fish. Also expect fresh-baked goods, housewares, a floral department and a well-stocked vitamin and personal-product section. Deli offers hot and cold prepared foods and artisanal cheeses.
