Gus' Restaurant

My husband and I went tonight to the restaurant. Server was very nice and attentive. The food is nothing to brag about ordered the 10 ounce ribeye that comes with only salad. had to pay extra for a baked potatoe...i remember we used to get a baked potatoe in the ole gus's. For 18.99 that ribeye should of melted in our mouths. But was tough and when you have to add steak sauce its not a cook steak...should of went to Texas Roadhouse ...food 100% better and a lot cheaper. \r Definitely needs to look at the quality of food for those prices. more

Please advise your hostesses and waitstaff that an over abundance of fragrance is highly off-putting for most, and a health hazard for some. My husband and I dined at your restaurant tonight and although the hostess was friendly and sweet, her perfume was overwhelming. more

I can now say that I had a disgusting meal in Texas. Old Gus did not appear to hold up on his reputation. He said that he had good food. The Brisket was good. But to get baked potatoes I had to pay 3.49 cents extra to get it as a side that was fine but when I received the Potatoes it was yesterdays right out of the icebox and not heated up as well as it should. I would have complained but our service was so bad that it was a pain to get the whole meal that we ordered plus Tea was empty most of the meal. You were able to get 2 sides with the BBQ I asked for the Baked Potato only well that is when I found out that I had to order 2 1.79 sides and had to pay for the 3.49 potato. I asked why they could not substitute and she said well that is just the way it is. Fine I ordered corn and beans. The beans were good the corn well it had to be reheated ice boxed and then reheated. I know left overs when I see them. Needless to say I ate the beans and Brisket and 1 rib they were not very good. So we muddled threw our supper and left 1 penny tip and it was on the card the service sucked and your boss?s rules suck too. 1.79 =3.58 the cost of the potato with a little extra. Gus you have some work to do fix the problem. I know that your food can be good I was recommended by a very reliable person. Sorry for the bad review. more

While I am very familiar with the food at Gus', I recently took my husband (who had never been) and he has been at me constantly to go back. Pros: Excellent Food, Great Service Cons: Missing intimacy of old local,but still a Great place to eat more

Gus' old location went up in smoke back in December, but never fear. Plans are for the restaurant to relocate and reopen at 3402 Palmer Hwy. Pros: Great steaks, great sandwiches, awesome takeout Cons: It's too dark more

Man, if your blind and are just tasting the food, the place is great! However, if you can see....you will be grossed out. The place is a pig stye....spider webs on the ceiling fans and just nasty conditions throughout the whole place. Good thing they keep the lights on low so its dark! Pros: Dirty and stuff...like to eat off you floor? Cons: Ok food! more

Although it felt like it was a step back to the early 90's the food was outstanding, the service was good. I just can't believe the ladies restroom was so horrible, there was about 3 inches of dust and dirt on the baseboards and I just have to wonder what other attentions are not being paid to the spots for dirt in that place.
