Fabulous food and service! 10/19/2008

Grisanti's is fantastic all the way around! Every time I've visited I've experienced extradordinary service no matter how busy they are. We've been there when there were only a couple other groups and we've been there with a full house. The food has always been fabulous. You are initially served with a wonderful salad with a house vinagrette dressing with lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, olives and onions. With the salad, you receive their homemade bread that sits on a metal plate on top of a tea candle to keep it warm. By the way--when you run out, they will bring you more--of salad and bread! But don't fill up on those only--they're entrees are well worth saving the belly room! My husband and I have enjoyed many selections from their menu and have loved them all! From steak & chicken to seafood--they're all wonderful! Their menu has a fantastic selection for everyone. Then there's dessert. We don't usually order dessert when we go out to eat, But at Grisanti's we always take at least half of our meal to go so we have room for dessert! Their chocolate sopressa is FANTASTIC! Not sure what exactly it is, but it's decadent! Possibly a cookie crust with a fudgy type brownie layered next with an ooey, gooey, smooth chocolate on top. Served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate shavings. Can't go to Grisanti's without it! Another cool thing--one evening we visited and were lucky to have a great waitress who took the time to tell us that all of their food is homemade. Including their pasta. She also said she has never seen a more glistening kitchen. The floor itself is scrubbed several times a day! That makes going there even better! Also, the prices are very reasonable. I've never left their wanting more! We spend around $40-$50 for two of us, and that includes wine, our meal, and our dessert. So, with the fantastic service & great prices to the fabulous desserts--Grisanti's is my favorite restaurant in Omaha so far! I highly recommend it! Pros: Service, food, ambience more

Never Again 9/13/2007

We are new to the Omaha area and was pleased to find a Grisanti's Restaurant in the area. We loved the Grisanti's when we lived in Memphis years ago. However, things must have really changed over the years. I ordered the Veal Parmesan that came out about as flat as a pancake with burn marks around the edges. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan that was also burned. Our bill was a meager $56.00. This was on a Friday. While working on my checking account the following Wednesday, I noticed THREE additional charges from Grisanti's on Tuesday!! They charged me 4 times for the same meal!! I immediately called the restaurant to have them fix the problem only to be told that it was the credit card company's fault and wouldn't be fixed until the following Monday. I was also told by management that it had happened to several customers that ate there over the weekend. I called the credit card company that they use and they said that the restaurant is the one that performed the transactions. So my meager $56.00 meal, that wasn't very good, actually cost me $224.00 for over a week period of time. Makes one wonder if the restaurant is having cash flow problems and needed to borrow a large amount of cash from it's customers for a week!! more

Not what it once was 12/29/2006

Grisanti's has always been one of our favorite spots to eat. Over the past year we have noticed a sharp decline in service and food quality, our last visit to Grisanti', sad to say will be our last visit to Grisanti's.\r After waiting about 10 minutes for a host to return to the station so that we could be greeted and seated, we waiting an additonal 20 minutes to see a server. Per the norm over the past year, we were served cold food, hard bread and at the conclution of our meal we sat and waited for 15 minutes to get a check. While waiting for the server to return with our receipt, we were entertained by the floor show consisting of small gray squeaky creatures gathering bread from off the floor.\r \r Enough said more

One of the best Italian Restaurants! 10/18/2006

I absolutely love and miss Grisanti's. It is my favorite Italian Restaurant and miss it regularly now that I've moved to Texas. They have the best minestrone soup and the bread is wonderful. I've yet to find something on the menu that I don't like. Whenever I go home to Nebraska it is always the place that we pick for the girls' night out get-togethers. Like I said, I miss it and I recommend it to anyone who likes Italian!! Pros: great food, good service, decent prices Cons: haven't found one yet more

Grisanti's on Dodge 9/3/2002

Grisanti's has been an Omaha staple for many years. It smells wonderful when you enter the building and is very impressive-looking. When you're seated you get the best bread served over a warmer with a dipping sauce. Salads are ""make your own"" from a large bowl brought to the table. The meals are delicious, as well. Pros: free parking, good food, lots of seating more
