Hustler 11/12/2014

This guy is a real dirtbag. He hustled my retired parents pretty good over the last month or so. From looking around on the web for 10 mins, it looks like they are definitely not the only ones. He baited them in with promising to be far cheaper than anyone else (to good to be true, it’s probably not), talked them into a few “add-ons” to void their original agreement and sucked as much cash out of them as possible, then got really lazy (pulling 2-3 hr days and showed up when he wanted, often ducking phone calls when he said he would be working and never showed), then cried poor mouth a week after bragging to my dad about blowing $800 a piece on scalped pats tickets. He lied about A LOT of weird stuff: his “secretary” is really just his girlfriend, he is from RI (try fall river), cost of supplies, he can get special seasonal discounts from supplier, claimed to have BA in Horticulture, lots of “bank” errors, etc. He talked my folks into thinking a $1600 check they had written him was “frozen" in his account due to some bank error and into writing him another check for $2000. Then he claimed he was opening a new account at another bank and had my dad verify it over the phone, later to find out he was verifying to a “Check ’n Go”. Anyway, the $1600 check did go thru and the $2000 check was cashed by him at the Check ’n Go despite my folks putting a stop payment on it (Check ’n Go is now hitting my folks up for the $2k). After this, they finally realized this guy was a hustler and lawyered up. When he finally showed up again to “work” (try to suck more $ out of them) they had to call the cops to stop him from stealing pavers and coping stone they had already paid for that his lazy a$$ hadn’t installed yet when they told him they were done with his hustle and to take his equipment and get off their property. The cops ended up having to tow his car too because he and his “employee” apparently both drove there on suspended licenses. Real salt of the earth. more
