Great Face Cafe

I've been a faithful client for 8 years. I have never experience a bad attitude or bad service. Great Face Cafe has been in business for a long time and the owner has a huge clientele. They also did my niece makeup for prom. The owner's work is beautiful...love my brows and I always get compliments. Very professional, never have you waiting and some people dont like that. more

I wonder if the vulgar comments came from negative customers whom were always late for there appointments and or wanted to be ""first"" when late, or were not able to have there way?\r \r As the old saying goes, ""If you ever want to find out something, then you better go see for yourself"". I have also been a Great Face Cafe consumer for years as well, and I have no complaints! If you know the rules, then just abide by them and follow. Just like a job!\r \r Yes, you will need an appointment, and on some occasions you may need to either book an appointment on the same day or earlier. Professional companies do this to keep down overbooking appointments. One would have to assume that the ""past unhappy customers"" have not gone to a professional setting where this ""normal"" occurrence happens on a regular.\r \r In closing, make an appointment and check it out for yourselves. I loved going to Great face to get my eyelashes done and buy my make-up. Customer service seemed great considering i had been going there for 4+ years, however it seemed the more business they got, the owner's attitude became worse. She always did walk-ins during the first hour of opening,( she changed and now you have to call the same day to get an appt) I have witnessed the owner argue with her clients about their appts or make them wait if she didn't like them (oh yes she will talk about you). Her phone ettiquette is so terrible that you hate for the owner to answer the phone to make the appt. I do believe that Ms. Azuka thinks that she is the only one in town that sells wholesale make-up, does waxes and lashes. I attempted to patronize her and her nasty attitude, but I QUIT and have resolved to going back to Macy's to buy my MAC make-up and found a very nice shop to do my lashes. I love going to Great Face Cafe. I am taken care of like I'm a Top Model or something, Great Prices and Azuika makes me feel like family. Talented, and Proffesional atomsphere. They stay booked so keep your apointment and come a few min. early. I also love getting my eyelashes done, they do better work than most of the places I use to frequent downtown and the prices are half what they charge. One person had it right..... the true colors came out in their customer service when Great Face Cafe moved from the River Oaks Mall to their location in South Holland. I received great customer service in the mall with NO telephone interruptions while the wax was on my face. At their location now, it seems like other things like getting a cup of coffee, talking on the telephone, or even to someone else in the shop is more important than good customer service. And the fact that you have to call the day of the appointment is outrageous. I think it is more of an inconvenience to the customer to have to call the day of the appointment instead of being able to plan the day before. I have NEVER heard of the policy ""You have to call at 11am to schedule an appointment for today"" policy. I have been going to them for over five years but enough is enough. I was happy to see I was not the only one that had problems with the way they and it was not just ""me."" I have been going to Great Face Cafe for the past 4 years and I was impressed..until Izuka (the shops owner) started to show her true colors. Not only was I a faithful custoemr who brought her business (at least 10 faithful clients all of which have found other places because of similar reasons) she NEVER showed her appreciation. Besides the fact that I never could get a standing appointment (even after being a consistent client), she would open late or schedule makeovers during her walk-in hours, making customers like myself who drive from the southside of Chicago wait an hour or more to get serviced. She is ALWAYS running behind schedule and if you are late (5 min) she will bumb your appointment...the bottom line is that she has HORRIBLE customer service skills and her attitude isn't all that great. Great face cafe is not all that great!!!! It is hard to book an appointment, and the owner is not all that nice. when I've had a long day at work, I would stop off to get my eyebrows done . It is just something that i like to do for myself after a long day. Anyway, I expect to be comfortable and relaxed when I am at \r Great Face Cafe, but that is not what i was getting. All i would hear while im in the chair, (the owner's chair that is), is her talk about her customers, their kids, or her employees, ( whichever one was off that day).\r This was very unprofessional to me, and in my opinion, whatever problems you have w/ your employees, or customers should be kept confidential. Any GOOD business owner would know that. I also did not like the attitude that the owner keeps. If you want Great eyebrows, Great makeup, Great consultation, Great atmosphere and a Great Face, this is your place! I have never had a bad experience here. Matter of fact I'm kinda spoiled because I have never had a good experience with anyone else doing my eyebrows. I have been visiting this team since they were a kiosk in River Oaks mall. They have groomed me into a sheer DIVA! Azuka and Kia do the greatest eyebrows and Dena does great eyelash and makeup application and consultation. The products are good too! I always get compliments on the services I receive. Wondering why they call it the Great Face CAFE? Well that's because you can enjoy a latte, tea or fruit juice drink that they'll prepare for you on location. The ambience is warm and inviting and modern and you can even get some good shoptalk while you're there! The best advice I can give is to be on top of your appointments! They only accept same day appointments and if you don't call within the first 1/2 hour of opening, you can basically forget it unless someone cancels. Also, they do bridal makeup. I had my makeup done for my wedding and it was simply beautiful. Bridal makeup is done on location. I'm sure that you will enjoy your experience with Great Face!
