Gordie's Garage

I came in yesterday asking for an oil change, heater repair and to have a fuel leak patched up in the nozzle hose. They had a waiting list so I had to wait until today to have it looked at, which was no big deal. I got a call from one of their techs(Joe) today stating that they couldn't work on my truck because it has a rusted out coil spring mount. I asked Joe what was wrong with the heater and where the fuel leak was, since I was going to have to do the repairs myself, and he had no idea and stated that he hadn't done the diagnostics yet. I stopped in to pick my truck up and, I kid you not, I was charged for the $85.00 in diagnostic fees that he had done AFTER he told me that they refused to work on my truck. They could do this but not the services that I had asked for, to include something as simple as an oil change. I can't believe this shop is even in business with that kind of service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are so many other reputable places in the area more

I took my car to Gordie because it was making a noise while driving, and I also needed an alignment. I am a family man and do not have allot of money to invest in repairs so I was a little nervous. I got a call from them the next day and they said they could not do the alignment because I needed my front axle replaced first. They also said I needed a wheel bearing and all 4 struts replaced as well. They also wanted to make money off the parts so they nearly doubled what they paid for them and tried to charge me an inflated price. The total bill was just over $1400.00!!!!! I had an feeling they were being less than honest. I told them I had to think it over and talk to my wife so I took the car and left for home. The noise it was making was worse so I went to Gratiot Wheel and Tire on the way home to see what they would say about the noise and get a second opinion. ALL MY CAR NEEDED WAS AN ALIGNMENT, and a TIRE WAS LOOSE!!! Axle was FINE. Wheel bearing was FINE. Struts were FINE!!! They more

They tightened my lug nuts, did an alignment and my car sailed down the road quiet and straight. Thank God all places aren't like Gordie's. My son stumbled upon them one afternoon. He had recently purchased a used car after a few months started hearing a rattle. I couldn't hear it when I was in the car but he drove it into Gordies and after checking the car out they discovered that his gas tank was being held on by magic! They did the repair quickly and charged so little that I couldn't believe it. Yes, and they even drove him to work and picked him up at the end of the day. Unbelieveable in this day and age. more

Took my car in for a second opinion and Gordie took me out in the shop and showed me what I needed and why. He probably spent 1/2 hour with me. Hard to find this kind of service today. They even took me home and picked me back up. I will recommend this place to my family. By the way...my car is fixed and at the price he quoted. Pros: Honest and fair priced more

I have been going to Gordie's for about six months now. Have had work done on wifes car and mine. Great experience from first visit. Friendly service and very accomodating. I have a 2003 CTS and needed a turn signal bulb replaced, got a rediculous quote from dealership. Gordie's did the work for over 60% less. Also drove me home and picked me up when the job was completed. Have also had brake job, oil changes and more. Everything was excellent. I have recommended them to friends and family. more

I had the worst experience with Gordie's Garage and it all should fall on the shoulders of the man who works at the front desk. After paying for the brakes to be fixed on my minivan they squeaked badly so I had to take it back. Which ended up costing me more than the brakes did and the car drove worse than before. I had to go through all this when I was 8 months pregnent with a two year old with me. Don't go there. more

Their service has really gone down in recent years. They use to have alot better service, however the quality especially of their work is not really good. Their pricing of their work isa no longer worth the quality they are providing. Really you should go to another shop for your repair needs. more

I used to use Gordie's for all of my mechanical work. I do not know what they have done recently, but their service is terrible. I took my car in because the front end was making a scaping noise. I was charged $60 for them to check it out. The price they quoted me was very expensive, so I told them I would have to return later. I was still thinking of having car repaired there. I had a friend check it out and what they had said was wrong was not wrong. It ended up costing me only $80 to repair what was wrong. Gordie's was going to charge me $350 and what they were going to repair wasn't even what was wrong. I am very disgusted with them. Their receptionist was rude. I waited 1 1/2 hours and paid $60 and their diagnsis of what was wrong was incorrect. Don't go there. more
