Good, defintely not four star! 6/22/2008

Please note that the last good review of The Glass is from over 4 years ago! Last evening, four of us ate at the Glass Menagerie after noting that Urbanspoon ranked it as the #5 Woodlands restaurant. I have to disagree with that ranking. First of all, it's difficult to find if you're not familiar with the Woodlands, it's a good 200 yards off of Millbend Dr., so don't expect your GPS to get you there. The delicious Sea Bass mentioned in previous reviews is no longer on the menu. We were served gin and tonics without lime wedges, the bread arrived after the salad, and two steaks were only luke warm upon arrival at the table. Otherwise the food was very good and the desserts were excellent. Lastly, although Urbanspoon lists the entrees at between $10-$15, the only entree at less than $20 is the hamburger! My wife and I spent $120 including a bottle of wine. Kirby's and Landry's don't even make Urbanspoon's top ten and yet are much better than the Glass Menagerie. Pros: Desserts Cons: Service, location, price to quality ratio. more

not worth it! 7/22/2005

The place is overpriced. Food portions are very small. Why on earth would anyone recommend this place? After eating there, we had to go to another restuarant becuase we were still hungry! The atmosphere was loud. We had to scream to hear each other. Pros: nothing! Cons: overpriced, portion size, loud more

I was so impressed with the excellent service and quality of food that I made a special trip all the way from Toronto, Canada just to 'taste' the experience again, with my whole family this time. I've been around the world and travel a lot, this one was unforgettable! Specially the preparation of the salad in front of your table was outstanding and unique. Group Gathering 8/28/2002

A group of us went to the Glass Menagerie and we all agree: the food and service was spectacular. My filet mignon was so tender I could cut it with my fork. Wine selection was great. Dessert was heavenly. Can't wait to go back. Pros: food, secluded, wine Cons: fountains not on, long walk more

What a surprise! 8/12/2002

During my stay at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center, I was pleasantly surprised to dine such a great dining experience at the Glass Menagerie. The menu selection was great, with a special summer menu, the wine list was wonderful and I have never experienced a more knowledgable and friendly service staff. We'll be back soon! Pros: Great taste!, Nice view, great service Cons: no live music more

beautiful view/beautiful food 7/19/2002

While staying in The Woodlands we had our anniversary dinner at the Glass Men. Walking down the hall to the restrnt is like walking to an island: you cross a waterfall on a glass bridge and 3 walls of the room are glass windows facing the waterfall and lake. The staff were so attentive and friendly- they made it really special for us. The Chillean Sea Bass is awesome! It practically melts in your mouth! The dessert selection is so fabulous it's hard to pick just one! It is beautiful! Pros: view/ambience, food, service Cons: too many desserts! more

HIdden treasure 7/18/2002

Had dinner at The Glass (locals call it that) while staying at The Woodlands Resort. What a surprise. Didn't know this quality of restaurant could be found so far from downtown. Wonderful food ... the chilean seabass wrapped in potato is especially good. The views overlook Lake Harrison and are some of the best in Houston. You can see one of their championship courses as well. It's a quiet place so don't expect a lot of noise and energy. We also had their brunch on Sunday. Spectacular presentation and exceptional wine list. Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Lake Setting Cons: Resort location more
