Gibson's Barbecue

Located in Huntsville, Ala., Gibson's BBQ is a casual dining restaurant that has been serving customers since 1956. The restaurant offers catfish filet, chicken, pork, beef, turkey shrimp and rib plates. Gibson s BBQ s menu includes a variety of sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs, as well as stew by the pint, quart or gallon. The restaurant offers several kinds of pie, including apple, chocolate, coconut, pecan, chess, lemon and peanut butter.. Bar-B-Q expert "Big Bob" Gibson started cooking in his back yard in the 1920's. He opened his first restaurant several years later with a vision of creating the best BBQ restaurant in Morgan County,Alabama. With no surprise he succeeded. His children all followed his lead and each became great cooks and restaurant owners. His Daughter Velma,along with husband Paul Hampton,came to Huntsville in 1956 to look for a spot for their restaurant. Out in the cotton fields south of town,a chance meeting with farmer Fleming started the process that brought us to where we are today. The business is still owned and operated by the same family which is now in its 4th generation. After 58 years in Huntsville,Gibson's is still recognized as the place to go for delicious BBQ Pork,Chicken,Ribs,Beef.
